I always find it interesting how offended people are when they are asked to label themselves or others. Personally, I don't think that "I'm me" really does anything but point out the obvious - of course you are you. A so called "label" is really just a general description of your interests, not a condemnation to a nonexistent social life and ridicule. You don't necessarily have to pick from "geek, gangsta, goth, punkxor, emo" or whatever -- You can always be creative with how you describe yourself. Labels, which have such a terrible negative connotation, are just a way of generalizing your interests without being too general. On the other hand, they are also there so you don't have to write out a lengthy autobiography touching every point that makes up your character.

That being said, in real life, I'd say I'm the sarcastic, saxophone playing blonde haired fellow with an infatuation of all things considered"passé" by the general public. (e.g., tamagotchis, pokémon.)

If you disagree, go for it. I felt compelled to offer this counterpoint because of the constant "I'm Me" replies to topics like this.

Labels are for cans, not people.
I hate people who label others, and people who label themselves.

It's called being your own creative person.

I've asked people what they would label me, and none of them can find a category I fit into. I prefer it that way. I don't need to classified to be happy, nor do I want to.

I personally think labels are pathetic. Be yourself and be happy with who you are. Label yourself, and you're just another stupid can.
i think we heard this many times dont have to repeat it

I do have to agree with this.

I have thought of this many times myself.

I guess the real issue with labels is that some people look down apon you like your nothing because you are 'goth' or 'preppy'- not so much labels are just plain evil.

Either way, you are going to get labeled by SOME PEOPLE SOMETIME and if they don't like us because of it, well that's really their problem.

We can't totaly ignore the labels because it other people use them.

If you don't care if they label you 'goth', 'emo' 'prep' that's great!

But we can't be totaly ignorant of what people say- either we care, or we don't but it's still there.

Well at school most people either think of me as 'crazy', 'insane', or quiet. (I know they don't really go together. It depends on which classes they were in with me last year though.)

I like animals, music, swimming, windsurfing, and running. I like cleaning my room and making it look nice. I get decent grades (A's and B's), and nobody hates me at school. I wear jeans, kind of baggy t-shirts, and tennis shoes. I don't wear my hair in fancy 'do's, or wear a ton of make-up. I don't know what I would be considered, or 'labeled' as.

Real people don't need labels.I like lipgloss and looking my best, I'm smart, but I like sports and hate 'fashion'. What whould I be then? People shouldn't be labled, because everybody is just who they are. So there. I am ME. As one of my famous quotes said....

i'm same i don't think people need to be categoried

i'm me

your you

we're individuals and thats what makes us special

we're all unique and special in our own way

I find it kinda offensive to want to label yourself as something.
A lot of the popular girls would label me as "Math Geek" or "Outcast." They don't even know the truth on the world and society makes them believe there are cliques and that everyone needs a label. What are we, soup cans?!

Remember, kids, don't listen to the media. Model nobody but yourself. Be a rebel like TGD and Alex Wolff.

I don't even give a rat's nest about labels. And I agree strongly with TGD. I'd just label myself as me.
I LOVE ALEX WOLFF ROCK DA HOUSE DUDE!

Seriously! We don't need to be labeled. If you want my friends opinion, they would say that we are popular to ourselves. But, we should never label people or ourselves.

Yep! Labels are for cans. Plus I think we've had enough of these kinds of topics. It's getting kind of old :)
