ok heres da story, i was searching for tamagotchi cheats and tricks on google and i saw in the sponsored links section and it had a "tamagotchi version 8" on sale on e-bay and i was wondering if u guys had a picture i could see of this so called "v8" and if its fact or fiction?

Agreed. You shouldn't have even posted it on this topic , though many posts with people describing the ebay sites advertising this. Although this is not true, These are the basic things you need to know...

Sometimes, people who want to make money like Bandai create virtual pets that almost copy the Tamagotchi. Often when buying on the internet, people say they are a Tamagotchi, when infact, they are not.

Ways to tell if a Tamagotchi is real:

* Three buttons

* The BanDai logo on the back of the Tamagotchi, and on the box somewhere

* Spelt "Tamagotchi", not "tamogotchi".

* Tamagotchi should be able to connect with other real Tamagotchis. Fakes generally cannot connect with real Tamagotchis

I agree, many companies try to 'copy' tamagotchis because they are oh so popular. Companies like JD produce fake tamagotchis. ^_^

it has to be a fake like "It's Tina" said they haven't even released v4.5 yet i remember when v3 just came out i saw a tamagotchi v4 on e-bay and i got it think i waz going to be the first 1 with a v4 and when it came the box was empty

I don't get why people hate on these other competitors; it's called buisness.

Well unless Bandai are really bad at counting I wouldn't think it's real.

I'm sure the Bandai people know that 5 comes after 4, not 8.
