Unfortunately this is somewhat misleading. Yes, Bandai Japan is in fact, re-releasing a previous Tamagotchi product... but this is the Chibi Tamagotchi (Tamagotchi Mini) in 1996 P1 shell designs as part of Tamagotchi's 20th anniversary.

Take note that this is a Japan-exclusive release and there has been no word of an overseas one.

The media has gotten the story wrong! Bandai Japan has rereleased the Tamagotchi Mini (Chibi) from 2005. This was released on April 8, 2017.

Very misleading. I know about the chibi (I bought the clear blue one), but the article will make people think the p1 and p2 will be released. I don't think that will happen.

In my local EB Games (Australia) you can pre-order the chibi!!! Found out yesterday so thought that was interesting, so later on today I'll go down and pre-order one and get some more information
