ever since I got my samsumg zflip 5, with a display that is obviously well and truly bigger than what any tamagotchi has, I've always felt it's a huge missed opportunity to not utilise the always on display screen on the back of the phone to make a Tamagotchi app that functions like any good one does (ie. not like my tamagotchi forever)
in reality, I don't know how much Samsung would care to collaborate with Bandai Namco given one is Korean and the other is Japanese, so its not like there's any direct benefit for them as companies outside of making something me and a few other people would love if they put a lot of money into making it work
I couldn't see either brand commiting to an idea like this if they didn't make mobile game money off of it sadly and I personally would hate that. I definitely would spend a good bit of money to be able to turn my closed phone into a tamagotchi though, I just wouldnt want to be milked for cash after purchasing my access to it
the fact that it'd operate on a mobile phone though would make it really accessible for stuff like meeting ppl too!!! if only if only...
