I hv a version 1 tamagotchi...''Gene(Generation) 00'' is written in the status(1st icon)...Why is this so?I tot it's supposed to be gene 1?(p.s. what signs will it shows when it becomes a toddler/child? my tama doesn't seems to have become a child becos it still uses the baby bottle when it eats proper meal/snacks but i've been leaving it on(but at the same time,cares for it) for a VERY long time like about 7 or 8 hours?)so pls help!

I suggest you reset and download your tama, and see if the generation bug fixes.
About the baby-toddler thing I couldn't quite understand what you meant. Sorry, english is not my native tongue...
But did you say your tamagotchi hasn't evolved from a baby to a toddler for 7-8 hours? Or did I get that wrong?
If that's the case something really isn't right, because the evolving from baby to toddler should only take one hour.
If you download it, and things are still the same, I suggest you check if the battery is ok. Maybe it's too old?
You could try putting another one in.

Does it really say "GENE", not "GEN"? Baby stage should last 1 hour. ... Can you provide a photos of it, front and back? I'm beginning to suspect it's not a Bandai Tamagotchi.
