Tamagotchi Cards

I recently ordered a used out-of-the-box English Tamagotchi v3 from Amazon. When I received it in the mail the seller had also included some Japanese Tamagotchi cards. I searched online and couldn't find anything similar. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they are and where I could possibly find out more about them.

these are super cool and I have never seen them before but my friend from japan has talked about them before. he said that a lot of them have scan bars on the them as I can see in one of the pictures...and you scan it through some machine at the tama depa mall and it unlocks a bunch of things that you can place on your tama or device of some sort <3...that's all I know though...

They look like they were from one of the Tamagotchi Data Carddas arcade games. (Have a look here: https://tamagotchi.wikia.com/wiki/Tamagotchi!_Data_Cardass )

There were several arcade games, released over time, each with their own set of cards. Generally, game play is something like this: insert your coin, play the game. If you win you may have the option to beam an item from the game to your Tamagotchi by IR. You can also win cards. The cards have a barcode on them. The next time you play, you can scan a card to enhance your gameplay.

While each arcade game was current, some of their cards become quite valuable as collectors cards. You can still find these cards on auctions.yahoo.co.jp

There was also a Tamagotchi home video game called the "TV Play" that could read one series of these cards, to enhance the game play.
