Tamagotchi 4u app

Does anyone know why the tamagotchi 4u app is no longer working??? It just stopped working on the device I had been using it on for years. And so I tried installing it on my new phone which is a sony xperia XZ2 and I made sure to allow android beam, and nfc. And the app opens but it just wont connect to my tamagotchi no matter what I do.

Are you using Mr. Blinky's version? The Japanese one doesn't work anymore.

As for connecting, maybe your new device isn't compatible. Just having NFC isn't enough for it to work, it has to be specific kind of NFC.

Yes I was using mr. Blinkys version. 

Ah ok thank you, but how will I know if it's the correct type of nfc?

There's not a real way to know, there is a list of compatible devices on Mr Blinky's website but it's not always accurate as some models could have had replaced the NFC by the carrier or something like that, also depends on the country.
