More like a Mini Osutchi/Mesutchi! ^_^ Looks kind of cool, and it definatly doesn't have Infared connection. "Chu" means kiss or love in japanese. And there are similar products that have that name:

Love-Chu (A japanese toy that also connects and mates)

Chu-Paniko (Um...I think it's a lip stick or lip gloss)

Chu-Chu (I have no idea what this is, I saw it in a japanese website)

And plenty more.

Actually, I think it does have an infrared connection. But, not on the top; on the side. Notice just above the "d button" (right side of male, left side of female). So when you press them together, both "d buttons" click, the infrared ports line up, and infrared communications can take place.

Wow! Pretty interesting. Bandai can make a lot of creative toys these days... :( Thank you for sharing. :)

What the--? It looks cool. They remind me of the Mesu and Osu pets.

Aw, those are too cute! Do you mean they try to find one as in a female person buys a female one, and a male person buys a male one, and they are suppose to find each other by having their Tamagotchis mate? I mean, that is a really cute idea, but it might be too obscure to work, so people will probably just end up buying two of their own ^^

they are comming out in japan?

no! i want one cuz when i get a boyfriend when i get older i want us to both have one..

Here's what I was able to make out of the machine translation.

< Point 1 > When a boy and girl unit are connected, they are apparently linked for life. They date, get married, and have children, similar to Osutchi and Mesutchi, but apparently this will have more features.

< Point 2 > Apparently, your Tamagotchi's relationship level will decrease if they aren't connected enough.

< Point 3 > Don't know what to make of this one. Depending on how they date and are checked on, you may get a different character.

So, this pretty much sounds like a cross between a Tamagotchi and a dating game.

It is just what you say.

I bought it a few days ago.It looks like osutchi and mesutchi.

It is, so to speak, small and simple one.

Because it does not take trouble, it is comfortable,

Here's an interesting question: Will there be releases outside Japan? They've done the ChibiTama and the Dekas have been seen in Bandai press events, but will the Tamago Chu be next?
