tama p buttons

hi i recently purchased two tamas they arrived a week or so apart and during that time i have noticethed buttons on the first one have become stiffer. is this just wear and tear or something shouldcbe wary of.

Could you maybe be a little more specific? Do you mean like they are harder to push? If you bought it used, it's possible that it's from wear or maybe something is stuck between the buttons. I wouldn't worry about it, but I'm pretty sure the more expert-like TamaTalkers can give better answers than me.

I recently got a used ID and sometimes when I pressed one of the buttons it wouldn't quite register on the toy. But if pushed a little harder it'd work. I ended up taking it apart and used a Q-tip with some Isopropyl Alcohol on it to clean up the circuit under the buttons! After that, I noticed that there was some dust on the plastic part of the button so I got a toothpic after that and cleaned it up. I put it back together and it worked wonders! It's good as new now!

Note: Only do this if you're comfortable opening up your tama and putting it back together again!

I always clean tamas when they are used. If they look like they have stuff in the part they come together, it might be good to clean the inside. Q-tip, toothpick and careful hands... I find one of my id was better condition then the other. Even though they came from the same person. The insides of one needed cleaning badly, one, not so much, but still got one because of the insides of the one I opened first...

I have bought two brand new P's, one green and one the Aikatsu! version.

For some reason, the buttons on my Aikatsu! P's have been less sensitive/harder to press straight out of the box, whereas the green one's buttons are perfectly fine.

I have noticed however that my green P's is firmware 1 whereas the Aikatsu! is firmware 2. Maybe this is why (different production runs)?

They were both brand new. The newer tama, feels like my first one did with the buttons. It is hard to explain but the newer one the buttons feel softer to press. There seems to be do difference in response times.

Its possible they still need the circut where the buttons are need to be cleaned. Maybe in production it was touched by a worker. It could just be the solder/connection.

I've noticed the same with my new Dream Coffret P's. Such a shame!
