On a Famitama (Yeah! Family Iro Iro Tamagotchi Plus) you can raise a family of Tamagotchi characters. At the beginning you hatch three eggs which grow into adults. Then one adult mates another adult via matchmaker or connection and they become parents. (The other adults return to the Tamagotchi World.) The parents then have 1-3 children and the cycle starts over.

On a Famitama you can also get passwords from the Tama DVD or from TamaEXPO (the website). There's also some other things you can do.

I've heard that the v5 will probably be exactly the same as the Famitama, the only difference being the language. However if they do "dumb down" the Famitama, like they did when they changed the Entama to the v4 and the Keitai to the v3, they'll probably put stacks of games on it. (Ugh, Tamagotchi minigames.)
