I got it for 4 + shipping.

And that concerns me. Its one of the older ones... besides some obvious cosmetic wear.

Is it legit is my basic concern?

Are the buttons there or are they just black? (just noticed that)

And just wondering. Is it a P1 or P2?

I actually have this Tama, mint in the box. It's a P2 as you can see from the picture. The buttons are black like the shell - it's hard to see them. You got a great deal, congrats and have fun!

Can I just say I’m very jealous, I wish I saw this.

As for restoring the paint, I guess you could attempt yourself... though to be on the safe side, I’d just leave it as it is. It looks fine, and as long as it works, it doesn’t matter too much.
