No, I once did it and I lost a fellow Tama. Veeeery bad idea. You can only chose a certain character TWICE, thenn you have to do it all over again. Then there's the annoying C button that if you press it, it will speed your Tama up, which is kind of creepy. :furawatchi: AND if you fail, it will fry your Tama up and BREAK IT. Do not do it!

I would say if you are convinced you want to - use a V2 connection. I have chosen many characters with a debugged V2 ( much more than two times!)

I wouldn't advise it on a V3 as alot of people say you cannot have a username and therefore cannot get passwords to work- V3's are still quite hard to come by in places so I wouldn't want to risk not replacing it.

But don't do it if it's your only one, it takes the surprise element away. I use a debugged one for experiments, such as to find out what a certain tama will evolve into if it's treated or fed a certain way, and also to provide a partner of the opposite sex for my others when they are all the same sex at one time and I am too impatient for the matchmaker! (I have 5 in total- one is debugged)

Honestly though, if it is your only one don't do it. The novelty of chosing a character soon wears off and you will be wanting to buy another new Tamagotchi to replace it. I find I hardly ever take any notice of my debugged tama (as I know I can change it in a second) and only 'play' with my normal ones.

EDIT:

I was writing this post before you added your last entry. If you have 11 of them, it's worth a try just to try out new characters. :furawatchi:

But, remember, you can only choose your characters twice. The next time you choose it, after that it will be a normal Tama again, only with the stupid C button.

I agree with you.

Plus, not all V2's can be debugged. I tried to debug a connection but I couldn't.

You can't debug UK Tamagotchis. You can only debug American ones.
It really depends where you bought them from, and who supplies the store. The one I debugged I bought from Gamleys (large chain of toy shops in the South of England) and had 'Tamagotchi Connection' printed on it, whereas ones I bought from Asda's (Walmart - an American owned chain) just said 'Tamagotchi' and I couldn't.

Well, I mean after you choose lots of characters and you had a debugged one for like 2-3 months it could break. It probably will eventually. Not to scare you, though. Sometimes they make it.

Oh yeah, you SHOULD NEVER debug a V3. You can't enter passwords, some games get messed up, and it breaks even easier than a v2 and v1. I think that's why no one voted "V3".
