In old modern Tama's if you downloaded you got everything back before you hit the restart button or in my case had to change the batteries.

On the instruction of the Music Star it says that hitting dowload will make it start all over, gotchi points skill points etc.

Is this a typo and they mixed up download with reset? Or does reset now function how Download use to?

The only time I ever need to do this is to change the batteries when they burn out. But I want to be prepared when my Music Star batteries run out.

I am wondering about this too, but I discover more typo errors on the user manual and presume that the download/reset thing is also a typo error, ie. press download to get everything back....

Okay thanks.

Is it just me...or is Bandai resently been very sloppy with this sort of thing?

They are really sloppy, actually if this is really a typo error, do think of this, if someone is a newbie at tamas, he/she would follow the instructions and press reset instead of download and thought that they could get everything back and in the end didn't....can't imagine, this is quite a drastic error in the user manuals...even us as old-timers in playing tamas are confused!!

Maybe the Admin should post this as some sort of pinned thing in the New board so people are aware of it.

I just ask my frd who have a music star too, she had experienced with it and confirmed that download is get back all the things and reset is all gone, just like previous versions, so it's just a typo error on the user manual of the music star. Pls note this if you have a music star :furawatchi:

Poor new people who have never had a tamagotchi whatsoever and didn't read the manual and their tam's battry died, then they read it and pressed reset...

BANDAI NEVER REVISES OR EDITS! THAT CAN CAUSE A PROBLEEMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!! Bad, bad, Bandai. Be more careful. I think they'll ALWAYS have download and reset there. But really, they should check it.

I remember in the v5/v5.5's manuals how they said "get your 14 digit code and enter it in Tamatown" and then they had some screenshots- of the 10 digit codes used on the v5! They probably just copy pasted stuff from old manuals into the new ones and didn't even do it very well either, leaving us to guess things.

I don't expect that they'd change the Reset/Download around for one version or that would just confuse everybody who owned Tamagotchi of different versions. Probably just a typo. That's why I never read the manuals and work everything out for myself or get it off Tamatalk :(

They had better change "Download" to "Load" in future Tamagotchi versions. I think that Load makes more sense and that's what it says on all of the Japanese Tamagotchi (well the Tamagotchi Plus onwards at least), even on the widescreen Tamagotchi where there would probably be enough room to write "Download" in Japanese. I remember when my friend first got a v2 Tamagotchi and she set the time wrong (AM instead of PM or something like that) and she didn't know that she could change the time again, so she reset it. She pressed B and got the infamous Download/Reset screen and her dad told her not to press Download because he thought it meant downloading pictures off the Internet!!!!!
