not telling!!!!
This is horrible! I was playing with my cat, trying to help him look out the window when a woodpecker crashed into the window! I wanted to help it but my mom kept saying ,"The only way to help him is to end his suffering."I kept screaming no mom!!! Then my big brother Andy and I went outside. I got a box and he had a towel. We picked up the bird with the towel and placed him in the box.He wasn't moving. We brought him into the warm garage and I gave him some crakers. Then he started moving! His head bobbing in very direction! Then he gobbled up some cracker crumbs and I ran inside to tell everyone his progress! I went back out and he was on his feet! But I noticed one thing. A big thing. TWO big things! 1. His head was bleeding and 2. his wing was broken(He was trying to fly away). I don't know what to do! Anyone with advice? (Other than killing) Please I need to help this poor animal! And if I let him outside heal starve and freeze to death! (It is a little snowy in Michigan.) Please help!

P.S I will post his progress every day or so.

awww! poor little birdie!!!

i think you should get a cage or something, and put him in it, and give him some water,

and dry up the bleeding with that towel

Take an old shirt, rip it into thin strips (not too thin), and bandage his head and wing. Then take him to the vet, and ask if there's anything they can do that doesn't require putting it to sleep.

I admire your kindness to that animal. I would suggest cleaning the blood with a towel damp with luke warm water and bandaging the wing with a shirt like TamaGirliey has proposed. Good luck! :D

He is doing much better but I am afraid and not aloud to touch him! He is hopping around a little bit and i should but him in a bigger box. I might later. I am scared he will die overnight. Maybe he will get out of the box! OH NO!!! Well I have him in the breezeway now and it is warmer in there. Maybe later I'll post a picture!

Guess what!!!!! I opened the breezeway door and screamed. He was flying around and chirping like crazy!!!! My bro and mom(And cat) came to see and he was flying around still! Then andy closed the door(So he couldn't get in the house.) and tried to let it outside! He opened the door but the bird was flying under boxes,Over benches and every minute or two he would slam into the door. followed by,"Is he OK andy?" and a "Ya he's fine." in reply. Then the bird fell in a corner and Andy caught in a paper towel. Then finally he put it outside and that woodpecker flew away faster than anything I've seen before! What a relief huh? Good thing my mom didn't kill it! :)

That's really good. I was gonna suggest

something else for the bleeding, but as long as he is fine now.

I've looked at A LOT of things to cure birds from bleeding. :)
