When I was in fifth grade I wrote this poem, and even though it is horrible, it somehow got published in the Young American Poetry Digest book. I wrote it badly on purpose, because my teacher said we had to send in two poems. I wrote one well (I thought if either of my poems would get published, it would be the other one.) I was very surprised when I found out it got published in the book.
Tiny little puppy sitting in the snow,
Along came a snowman and
what do you suppose?
The playful little puppy
looking for a stick,
Chewed the snowman's arms...
nibble, nibble, nibble.
No offense meant to anyone, but they probably thought I had a mental problem and felt sorry for me or something.
I can write much better poems.
