Ok this is cell phone help. I'll try to explain it the best I can. Oh and this is only for people who have Razr phones, since that's what I have.

Ok if you want to do this, go to your text messages and open one up. Then press the buton with a line that is right above the Up Arrow button. it's at the very top and it's between 2 buttons with dots. Well press the down arrow 3 times and you've got chat right? Well My friend doesnt have a cell phone but does have AIM so we use this feature a lot. But I don't know if it counts towards my text messages!

Does anybody know if using the chat feature counts against yuor text messages? I only have 1000 text messages a month and if it counts towards text messaging then I might have already gone over the limit!!!!

I tried but I kept getting number busy. I must have tried for at least 30 minutes calling over and over. Gahh I hope it doesn't count to my text messages.

I would suggest still attempting to contact your privoder or going on their website to find out about their rates. Each provider is different. I have a razr and if I want to use msn or yahoo on it, it's 5 cents an IM. It doesn't count as a text message but I woudl be billed for it so I just use my text messages. I am with Fido.

I have cingular, and no I am NOT using AIM. My friend doesn't have a cell phone so sometimes when I'm not on AIM, he text messages me and I reply in the chat thing (just as I explained it in the first post)

Oh OK. I don't have a razr, I have a cingular nokia. And My IMS don't count as text and IDK if i have a chat thing.

I didn't say you had AIM. :\ I just was implying the use of something other than standard text messaging.

 

I don't see why it wouldn't count as text messaging though.

It's probably more expensive or uses up more texts, too, since it's not regular texting.
