Pac-Man tamagotchi screen alternating between low battery and clock

My Pac-Man Tamagotchi seems to be alternating between the low battery screen and the clock. Usually if the battery is low the low battery screen always shows either solid or flashes.

probably only just at the low battery point then
if its switching in a regular pattern it could be where the internal processes are drawing slightly more power during each tick

Yes might be right. Probably it’s warning me to replace the battery.
