Owner of V4.5...

Hi, all!

I just got my 1st tamagotchi a few months ago and it was a V4.5. Then, I got 2 more. I love them, I love them, I love them... I'm addicted to them.

Now I am curious about what the very first ones were like to play with.

I have seen bunches of them on eBay but don't know enough to make sure I am really getting 1 of the original releases!

Does anyone know if they were released in just 1 color or lots of colors at the beginning (in the US)?? I see that they appear to come in a box. Are there rarer colors to get than others? I 've seen some that I just like the colors but don't know if I should try for something else, a color more special.

If anyone is an expert on the 1st tamas out, I would really like some info.

Well, I kinda figured the original would be pretty basic but I just kinda wanted it just to have one from the beginning of the Tamagotchi craziness.

They don't seem too expensive on eBay (except for shipping ) but like I said, I didn't even know if they came in bunches of colors or people are trying to sell later years and just saying that they were from the first year.

The original tamagotchi's came in alot of diffrent colors, alot of them were solid one colored eggs and then there were "special" design ones (which would be all the normal ones now) they came in a box that was super easy to open compared to the packaging now. The only diffrence with the original ones and the tamagotchi's now would be that there wasn't a connect feature so you couldn't interact with other tamas and there wasn't an online website. And less games. Oh and I'm pretty sure you didn't have all the food options. And there was no pause/ sound off features so the pause was added when kids (like me) were getting them confiscated in school lol. I remember near the end of the popularity of the original eggs you could go to the grocery store and get one for like 5 bucks so I used to get one almost every time I went with my mom to the store (I have no idea where ANY of them are, probally in a dump somewhere or in a box) but yeah the graphics are still the same pixelated images, and even the poops are the same haha!
