In the Netherlands we first got all kinds of clones. The real tamagotchi came a few months later, and had a pricetag of 30 euro, that's 41 dollar.

19.99 here in the USA when it came out, I specifically remember them being sold in the Luckys grocery store (which sadly long since closed down.)

They were about DM 30 here in Germany, which is €15.

According to Forbes, they were 1,980 yen in Japan (which was about $16.60) .
