Old Tama owner but its been a while

Hi guys.
Im new here and found this site trying to google for answers.
When i was younger I had a Tamagotchi like a lot did.
Well 1 day it just died gave out even when there was new batteries.
So i havent had one since then.
I remember being sad about it too when the toy store back then said they werent selling them no more.
Since then I havent had one.
Until I got 1 for Christmas last month.
Its a gen 1.
So heres where I need help.
I am completely blind so i have no vision.
When i had the one I did as a kid I somehow was able to keep it alive on my own with out help.
Now that I have this new 1 Im struggling.
I learned the icons.
Like A 1 time is feed.
A twice is lights and 3rd is the game etc.
I know B selects what I want.
But when it comes to feeding do i press A then B a few times and guess its eating?
How do i get to snacks or meals?
Also when turning off lights.
Do i press A twice press B once and they are off?
Is there any blind people playing with this independently?
And if your sighted describing how to do things for me please explain it like press A then explain the screen then press B explain again.
Just so I can make since of it.
I would like to keep my Tamagotchi alive until old age.

When you feed it, it would be either meal or snack. Pressing the A button once will go to the feed option, pressing B 2 times will feed it a meal. Pressing the A button 2 times, then the B button will feed it a snack.

mhm, yep! im not too sure on pressing the b button twice though, i think that feeds it twice. i meant to say once, sorry!

There is one issue with feeding that needs to be mentioned: The food menu will remember which item you picked last time. Unlike the 1996/1997 originals, overfeeding snacks will kill the Gen 1 and Gen 2 remakes early, so you'll need to make note of what you last fed your Tamagotchi, so that you can switch the food menu to the correct option the next time you use it.

Wow. I didnt know this. Thanks for the heads up. Will pressing C exit out and take me to the main food menue if i do feed it snacks? I will try and not feed it any snacks at least for a couple days. Ive only been able to keep it alive for 4 days. Things really changed. When I was younger I could keep it alive for a pretty good amount of time.

So since I cant see it. Do you think making a schedule would work? so feed it at 9 when it wakes up. then lunch at 2 or close to it. dinner at a different time? That way I can make sure it gets fed.

The best schedule I've found (for myself) is checking on them about once every 2 hours when it's awake. They usually don't drop all the way down on hearts in that time, and a lot of time we can get breaks in that span of time(between work breaks/lunches) or just chilling out.
But when it's in the infant stage you want to check on it every 5 minutes- I often set a timer.

I will give that a try. It works perfectly anyways since I could use breaks when I have to study or when im just chilling. Yes I noticed the newborn stage is pretty needy every 5 minutes. Thanks for the reminder.
