Are there any of you out there?

I am definitely a use/play with collector so when I see auctions on ebay for vintage virtual pets that are still new in the packaging I hesitate because honestly all I'm going to do is rip the packaging open to play with the tama, and then I leave the auction alone so that NIB collectors can have a chance.

Then I realized, are there even any of you all out there?

& how do you guys feel about collecting things "NIB" only?

Oh, I know there are TONS of collectors who don't open packaging.

I am one who must open it though, but I do know people who have NIB Vpets

*Guilty*

I just received a V2 the other day and have decided not open it. I might in time, but right now I'm happy to leave it as is. :)

I'm definitely not "NIB" only though!

dont really know what to call it but i leave the box intact so i could store my tama and if i ever need to sell it ill still have the box.

I definitely open the package and play with them, but I do it in a way that I leave the package in pristine condition and save everything then when im finished playing with the tamagotchi I place it back into the packaging like new..i also cover all the tama's and put screen protectors on them to make sure they stay in perfect condition lol...but at the same time I also buy MANY second hand tama's and refurbish them.so I don't know what to call myself :p

I open all my pets. I keep my color/japan package stuff. I don't store them in the package though. I have my precure pet boxes all saved too, cut up so they can be looked at and not smashed. I tried to save my music star package but those things are more in the way then they are worth because of how I open them...

I atleast try to keep them in NIB condition with a pouch for each in use and storing them.

I ordinarily open up my tamas and play with them. I just make sure that I open them with as little harm to the packaging as possible, so that I may store it back inside its box after I'm done.

That being said, I do however leave my special edition tamas in their boxes. Those are usually the only exceptions, though.

Ra,

I always open up packaging when it comes to getting a vintage tama, though out of the 4 I've bought in the last year only 2 came with packaging. I keep ahold of them so I can store those tama's when they are not in use (like right now since I'm focusing on my morino and trans/x alien pet).

I'm an opener. New in box collecting may be fine for action figures, but electronic pets are made to be interacted with and keeping them in a sealed box seems kind of pointless to me. In addition, considering that most Tamagotchis contain batteries already installed, leaving the batteries in for years at a time can cause the batteries to leak and ruin the Tama.

Same!

I open all.

But A few of doubles that mean more to me like my first tamagotchi v1. have one open to play with and another to keep bnib for keep sakes. sake

I have purchased Tamagotchis with the intention to play, but then I end up keeping them in the box. I think I'm some sort of packrat.

I bought a second Ocean because "it was cheap/I liked the colour" only to end up being too scared to play with it. Furthermore, I have twos pairs of Osu/Mesutchis laying about. The sad thing is that I don't want to sell them... but they're honestly collecting dust!
