My first Tamagotchi! Need help! What version is it? Is it real? Etc.

I recieved for my birthday a used Tamagotchi, I think it is real but I'm not 100% sure.

Also, I know NOTHING about these guys, I've always played with Nanos only.

Who is this guy? What version is it? Are there instructions? Is it real or fake? Why is he a rockstar/singer?

Thats a Tamagotchi Music Star, commonly known as tamagotchi connection version 6.
