"Yours only restored you to the age you appear. You will age. But when the time comes, I'll give you a permanent one. And Marie will get some too, but later on in life."

"Yes." Alli whispered. "It does."

Ishmael listened to the information solemnly, then nodded once. "I see. Well then, I guess I'd better enjoy being this young while I still can."

Aviance gently pulled him, so they were sitting across from each other, then climbed onto his lap, facing him. "Here goes," she murmured, leaning forward and nibbling his neck. Then, she found the spot he was familiar with her biting, and bit into it, this time injecting him with the venom to change him.

Azazel smiled, "i just need to get your body nice and used to the magic, thats all." She climbed onto his lap, and kissed his chin. "I'm still mad that you teased me so before."

Alli let out a gasp, and his eyes were squeezed shut. It hurt a lot, and he didn't like it. But he held the pain in as best as he could, for the pain would be worth it in the end.

Aviance withdrew after injecting enough venom to change him, then waited for the process to complete. It was like a disease, it had to travel through the body to be fully potent. She held him in her arms, murmuring words of reassurance to him.

Ishmael laughed and said, "You're being so touchy about this, miss." He kissed her briefly, then murmured, "But I do know you liked the teasing."

Alli shook in her arms, tears started to fall down his cheek. He wasn't enjoying this at all.

"But it isn't fair." Azazel whispered. "Truelly not."

Ishmael smiled and nuzzled her neck, chuckling. "Be patient, dear. Now that Marie is awake, I don't want to do anything too... promiscuous. She's only a child, after all."

Marie came down the stairs a few minutes later, whistling. In her hands, she held a strange butterfly made of glass. "Look! I made it myself!"

Ishmael just stared at her, amazed. This child... no wonder the police want her. She has a gift.

Aviance wiped the tears away, her own eyes becoming watery. She hated seeing him in pain, especially this much.

Azazel looked amazed with the butterfly. "Thats beautiful, Marie. How did you make it?" She patted her lap, so Marie would join them. "It's amazing! Gale would love it- he's fond of butterflies."

Alli grabbed her hand, holding it tight. "It's starting to stop... Hurting..." He winced a bit.

Marie sat on her lap, cradling the butterfly gently. "I made it with..." She looked around, then whispered, "Magic. Mommy said never to tell anyone I could do it, because I haven't been trained, and she said the scary police would get mad at me."

Aviance didn't even flinch, her body used to pain. Besides, giving birth had been worse. "Good, love. Now, you'll feel funny at first, and thirsty, but you'll get used to that. I'll get you some raw meat, seeing as you are part carnivorous animal. Lucky for you, you have a variety of options for sustaining yourself."

Azazel was stunned. The little girl knew magic? "You... You, Marie, know magic?" She jumped up, holding the girl high up. "From this day on, you are my second apprentice! You are gifted, my child! I couldn't create something with such beauty myself..." Azazel looked at Ishmael, her eyes excited. "She should go to the royal city, and be educated! They have a school for those gifted such as her!" She spun Marie, happy beyond beleif.

Gale had heard all of the commotion, and had came up through the door in the floor. "What is going on?" He then saw the butterfly, and his heart fluttered. "What a beautiful butterfly..." His voice was dream like, and no harsh like it had been before.

"I... I want... Onions." That was a weird request from Alli, seeing he was now a vampire.

Marie said, "Papa, will the police come to get me?"

Ishmael laughed and shook his head. "No, we will never let any harm come to you, I promise."

Then, Marie noticed Gale had returned. Excitedly, she pulled herself from Azazel's grasp and darted over to Gale, the glass butterfly in her hands. "I made it special for you, Gale! I like you lots!" She lifted it up so he could take it from her. "I hope you like it!"

Aviance nodded, springing to her feet and dashing home, not wasting any time. She grabbed some onions, then returned, putting her vampire speed to good use. "Here, love, eat as many as you want."

Gale bent over, his eyes friendly. "Thank you." He kissed her forehead, and took the butterfly in his hands. He held his hands out, and it began to float, it's wings fluttering. "It would make a nice addition to my butterfly room. Thank you again, Marie. It's beautiful."

Alli smiled, his fangs showing to be lopsided. "Thank you." He took a bite into one.

Marie blushed and hid behind Ishmael, suddenly becoming very shy. "You're welcome," she mumbled, peeking her head out to look at everyone. All of the attention she was receiving made her somewhat nervous. She'd never been given such attention at the inn; it was an unfamiliar experience.

Aviance said, "Hm... your fangs seem to be lopsided. I'll have to see if your braces are the cause of that." She watched him carefully, somewhat worried about him.

Gale blew an icy wind onto the butterfly, and it flew in the direction of the wind, through a door. He turned, and smiled at Marie. "No need to be shy." He grabbed her hand, laughing. "I'm sorry, but I'm a bit old for you."

Alli laughed, "I'm just a mess up." He took another bite of the onion. "The sweetest stuff, I tell you."

Marie said, "Does that mean we can't be friends?" She tilted her head, confused. "I want to be your friend, Gale! That's why I made the special butterfly! Can you teach me to make the winds magic?"

Aviance said, "If you plan on doing post make-up with me tonight, you'd better brush your teeth. I don't know if I want to taste any onions myself."

"We can be friends." Gale nodded, "And sure I can try to teach you." He smiled at the little girl.

"Oh don't worry, I'll clean up. Right now I feel like being gross." Alli took another bite.

"Hooray!" Marie cried, dancing around the room. "Did you hear, papa? I have a friend who has magic, like me! And he will teach me all about wind! It's wonderful!" She ran over to Ishmael, giving him a big hug.

Aviance smiled and kept watching him, glad that she wouldn't have to face losing him. They would be together, forever.

Azazel smiled, but she turned her gaze to Gale. This was suspicous for someone like him, and she was wondering what he was thinking.

"Onions are yummy." Alli nodded. "And good for you too."

Ishmael scooped Marie up into his arms, holding her close. "My goodness, Marie. This is the most excitement you've had in a very long time, huh!" He laughed, and it seemed as if a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. "I'm glad you are happy."

Aviance nodded once, and said, "I prefer to cook onions before I eat them, though. I can't eat them plain, the make me feel nauseous."

Azazel smiled, "she's quite talented, yes." Gale had left the room, going through the door the butterfly had went through.

"I eat anything, though. So it makes sense."

Marie giggled and said, "I want to start learning everything I can, right away! If that's okay with everyone." She looked from her father to Azazel, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Aviance laughed and said, "Well, that's true." She held him close.
