Frexspar took a deep breath and said, "Aviance... you don't remember me? What about your father, your home?"

Aviance raised an eyebrow, her face somewhat confused. But then her expression softened, and she murmured, "All I remember is waking up in a strange lab. That is the first point of my life I can recall."

Frexspar's face grew paler, and he gripped the arm of the couch tightly. A lab. They had taken his baby sister to a lab, to be tested on, like a rat or mouse. They stole all of her good memories, her happy times. They stole her life.

Demetri hugged Frexspar when he saw him go pale. "Just tell her." He whispered to him.

Alli looked confused, and just shrugged.

"For what?" Anja asked.

"Blood." Metax mumbled, getting up. "Do you want to come?" He asked.

Frexspar said, "Aviance... the reason why we look and smell alike is because... because... I'm your older brother."

Aviance's smile suddenly seemed to crack. "What? No... i thought that... I had no family left.. that they were all dead..."

Frexspar said, "Aviance, our father is still alive. I'm alive. Mother died when you were young, not too long after... after you were taken by the humans..."

Aviance stared blankly at the floor for a few minutes, before she started sobbing.

Alli hugged her tight, burying his face in the top of her head. "Shhh babe." He whispered. "Calm down."

Demetri bit his lip, silent.

Aviance just kept bawling, curling up closer to him. "I.. I can't!" She wailed, before pulling away. "All my life I've wanted a family, I thought I was alone. I have gone years on my own, being tested on and used as a toy. I still have the tattoo on the back of my neck, my experiment number! And now I find out that my life has been a lie!" She ran away to one of the other rooms, grief stricken.

Frexspar watched her leave, trying to keep somewhat calm. Then he said to Alli, "My little sister is pregnant. And I assume you're part of the reason why." He frowned.

"Husband!? She's too young to be married!? When were you two married? Was it an official ceremony? If it wasn't, I don't count it!" Frexspar said, having the same fiery temper as Aviance. "She may be strong, but a baby could kill her! If she remembered her past, she would know that! She would know that having a baby would be safest past the point where her wings finish developing!"

"Shut up!" Sora snapped, walking over. "You don't need a ceremony to be married to someone. Marraige is sacred, yes. It can be emotionally done. "They love each other very very much, and you don't go yelling at my friends. Especailly in my house." He stared at him, his beautiful blue eyes shaking a little, no matter how tough he tried to look. He kind seemed like a dog barking, but its tail in between it's legs.

Alli bit his lip, "she can die?" He looked worried.

Frexspar said, "Well, my people are dying! There are few of us left, and to me, tradition is very important! i thought it was the one thing that would keep us together. But without it... And I bet she had to be around fire at some point..." He shuddered. "She always hated fire. She would cry if it got too close.. and then I'd hug her, and we'd hide our wings and go get ice cream, and she would be much happier after that... And mother and the other sirens would take us to the beach, and they'd help us find good seashells, and we would sing the songs of our ancestors..." He suddenly looked at Alli, angry once more. "Yes, in fact, it could. Her system isn't ready for motherhood, because siren babies need a lot more nutrients from their mothers. That baby could suck the life out of her."

Lise's lower lip quiver, and she stated crying, scared by the grown up talk all around her.

Demetri picked her up, taking her to another room, by the other children. "It's okay Lise." He whispered, hugging her tight.

Alli's eyes narrowed. "She has no problem with fire now. She cooks for us all the time- a wonderful cook she is, not that you'd care. You come here, looking to start a fight? I don't care who you are. And I won't let her die, and even if she does, Sora here can save her, you a**."

Sora ran his fingers through his hair, resisting the urge to punch this guy in the face. "No one here dies, ever. Not while I'm here."

Frexspar said, "I finally found my sister, and she doesn't even remember me!" Tears sprung to his eyes, but the fierce rage did not leave his face. "And now she could die, and be gone forever! How could I not be angry! How could I not be upset!? I just wanted to be able to hug my sister again, to tell her how much I love her... but I look in her eyes, and a part of her is missing. Her gaze is somewhat vacant..."

Lise rubbed her eyes and sniffled. "Everyone is so mad. I want everyone to b-be happy."

"Sometimes people need to be angry, so they can talk. And then they can be happy." Demetri whispered, kissing her forehead.

"... You had high expectations." Sora mumbled. "You can't be angry decisions your sister has made- she made those choices. You're treating Alli like he's some kind of murderer who wants to attack her. And of course she isn't going to remember- I assume she was taken at a young age. And perhaps that part isn't missing, the one you don't see. Perhaps its there still, awaiting to be reopened. And maybe she looked so vacant because she was wondering who the hell you were? And she isn't going to isntantly be like "ohhh big brother how i've missed you so!" You gotta give the woman time. She's not only a woman, but she is a pregnant one. She's sensitive, and you need to not be so... So try to be, oh I dunno, less freakin' in her face? And you don't know if she's going to die- I've dealt with your kind before, Sirens! I come from a village in Japan located near the water. Tons of them lived there, and I always helped them out. I can help out your sister too, so shut up. I'm a healer. I'm able to do anything. Nothing is impossible for me. And I won't even save for you, I'm saving her for Alli. And because she's my friend too, so stop it! And how dare you come into my hut with such anger? There are children here. You even upset little Lise! And who are you? Why the hell are you here with my cousin?"

Lise said, "I'm sad that daddy Frexy is sad. I just want him to have his sissy back.."

Frexspar said, "How was I supposed to know that they wiped her memories? I simply came home, and she was gone. I know I should control my temper... I'm just so shocked... and the last time someone close to me had a child... the child was cold before I could hold him.... and the woman was killed, unable to defend herself..." He went silent, staring out the window. "I'm sorry for intruding, and for exploding at all of you. But I think of what she had to face alone... and I get so angry at everything. I wish I had been in her place."

Aviance sat alone in the other room, staring at her lap, and an old chain with a few tufts of turquoise feathers. She handled it carefully, one of the only objects from her past that she still possessed. She had stopped crying, but her heart still hurt.

Demetri smiled gently, "daddy Frexy will be fine." He whispered.

"Look, we all promise you your sister will be fine. She's protected here. She has many people around to help- I'm the healer, my sister does magic... We've got her covered. I understand you're extremely upset, and you must be scarred, but just calm down. And you didn't answer me about Demetri."

Alli had snuck away, to by Aviance. "Hey." He sat beside her.

"Okay," Lise whimpered. Then she looked around to see if there were any other kids.

Frexspar said, "I'm Demetri's lover. I am also Lise's secondary father. I love them both, but I am relatively new to their family."

Aviance looked up at him and smiled slightly. "Hi..." She went back to observing the chain with the feathers. And then, her body seeming to move of its own accord, she wove them into her hair, the same way Frexspar had done. Her body remembered the past. "My hands can remember old things.. why can't my mind?" She sniffled, her eyes watering once more.

Kiara was looked at them, her eyes curious. Demetri smiled, "you should go talk to her."

Sora shook his head, "I see. Just... Take care of them."

"It isn't your fault." He whispered, "you gotta let your hands guide you." He whispered.

Lise peeked at Kiara, then shyly walked over. "Hi.." she said quietly. "I like your hair."

Frexspar buried his face in his hands. "Everything's so crazy now... so much has changed."

Aviance said, "I want to remember my home.. my family..." She sighed angrily. "I'm so stupid!"

Kiara smiled. "Thanks. I like yours too."

Sora walked over, and wrapped his arms around him. "You look you're going to cry. Time brings change, all you can do is... Adapt."

"You're not stupid. It isn't your fault." Alli kissed her forehead.

Anja giggled, "sure~"
