"What's so cool 'bout vampire ghost? You're technically not alive, so whats the point?" Sheldon played with his spiky hair, turning around quickly. His green eyes were sharp as he looked over this guy.

Sheldon suddenly broke out into a smile. "You passed the test. I like you, huh." He grinned. "Well, you did some 'fancy' footwork there, figured you were showin' off, y'know? Just pullin' your leg, das all."

Sheldon shrugged. "This aint a war no more. It's a matter of survival- you need friends and family in order to make it out here. Just look at my family- we've taken out more soldiers defending ourselves did than the creature army did in war."

"Don't see them. And that's the problem. You'll soon find that when you need them the most, they will fail you."

"Well, I never hang with them, therefore, they can't fail me. It's I who fails them. Our leader, my effiminate older bro and his wife got taken away to the exmperimental places where they rip 'ur fangs out and what not. I take care of those in the area, to protect the rest of the family. They aren't fit fur battle no more. They got kids and what not, y'know?"

Miranda quietly said to him, "Hon, it might be better if that's what happens. I mean... I'd like to think that maybe, just this once, I could do something that idealists would call "selfless." Besides, maybe you'll help me at some point along the way. Then we'd be even."

Miranda smiled at him and told him, "You're different from any other man I've met before, Nick. You actually seem to care about other people, although correct me if I'm wrong. Plus, I haven't known any nice men besides my father, really."

Sheldon snuck after him though, feeling that this guy wouldn't last here on his own.

Nathaniel had been a little strange lately towards everyone in the house- even Tettra. He sat in the corner, scribbling something. Once in a while, Sorrow would come over, and they'd converse for a bit, and then seperate. It was a strange sight, and no one knew what to make of it.

"You look... Appetizing." Sheldon blurted, "not like that though, I mean... Y'see, there's a mountain lion thats got us all under close tabs. Biggest thing yu' ever meet. It even talks! And we are also surrounded by half human/horse things, Y'know? So, you'd best not be on yur own." He grabbed his arm.

Metax pushed him away. "Don't touch me." He siad, pointing his sword at Sheldon's neck. "I think I can take on a stupid lion."

"Ugh... That things gott'in through villages of people, almost killed mah cousin, who's one of the feircest warriors ever. Can't ya take a helping hand? I wanna be friends, y'see!"

"What ever place you've come from is most definately probably different from here, man. Here, in the forests, y'need friends to survive. I'm kinda at mah limit here- y'seem capable, and sane, if that. I need some campanionship- and someone to kill me in case I snap." He looked away now, not wanting to explain what he was talking about. It kind of came out on its own.
