Jade suddenly shot up, hearing a noise from behind.

Toby and Adam were staring at the pair, with very different expressions. Toby looked delighted, while Adam looked scared out of his wit's end.

"I knew it!" Toby said triumphantly.

Adam was too shocked to speak.

"She certainly is pretty." He murmured. "Congratulations."

Croy grinned- Needless to say, however happy he felt, his grin was still scary as hell- at the sound of Tobys voice. But the preasence of the human thing disturbed him. "Who are you?" He spat, twoards Adam. "One of the campers, I presume."

Adam said, "Yes, I am." He tried to keep the fear out of his voice. "And who are you?"

Jade said to Adam, "He's my guardian angel, Croy. Croy, this is Adam. He took me and Toby into his camp."

"She certainly is big. I was convinced it was twins there, for a while." He smiled a little, then sighed. "I hate to ask you so soon, but... Gio has a headache. You have a quick fix for him?"

Adams tries were in vain. He could smell the fear on him, hear the quick beating of his chest.

"Thank you for taking decent care of her." He said coolly to Adam. "And Toby. As long as they are well taken care of and never harmed, you'll never be harmed."

He turned his attention on Toby. "You are doing okay, right?" He murmured, much more softly.

Toby said to Croy, "I'm doing great! They're taking very good care of me and Jade!" Then, more smugly, he said, "I knew something was going to happen between you two! I knew it!"

Jade's heart sped up, sending blood to her cheeks. She was quite embarrassed.

He nodded. "Okay. Ill get it right to him." He smiled more senceirly. "Thanks- and good luck."

He started to walk off, stiring the right amount of herbs into the tea. He smelt Lavender, but he couldnt distinguish the other scents.

Croy laughed a bit. Luckily, his cheeks could no longer hold color like Jades could- it would always and forever be the sick blue-gray color. "Well, it hasnt ben going on for long." He murmured. "I have to be around to watch over you two, dont I?"

Toby said, "Well, if that's what you want, then it's good by me. I'm glad you and Jade finally confessed, though. I was afraid I'd have to do it for the two of you."

Jade turned and buried her face once more. "You're embarrassing me!" She said, giggling.

"Heres your excedrin in a cup." He murmured, handing him the tea. "Anyways, you should see Soras new kid later. Shes big, but shes pretty."

Croy laughed a little. "Nah- I coaxed it out of her eventually." He was still grinning, but his mind kept drifting to the terrified man below him. He hoped, for his sake, that he or the camp would never challenge him.

Adam said to Croy, "So you're the one who saved Jade." He didn't seem scared anymore. Now he was just curious. Jade and Toby had become a part of his "family". He wanted to make sure Croy had good intentions.

"Very." He murmured. "Soras face, but her mothers hair. She will be beautiful."

Croy needed to know the very same things. "Well, I doubt anyone else in this forest ever could." He spat. "Yes, I saved her. And her brother. I would do it for them any time they needed it."

Jade rested her hand on his cheek, as if to say 'Keep your cool, Croy.'

Adam said, "Well... do you... mind if I talk to you alone?" There were some things he felt better not to discuss in front of a kid like Toby.

Croy calmed down with Jade's touch- he didnt want to scare her with another outburst. And plus, Adams offer was to good to refuse. A real time to drill into his intentions. "Fine." He murmured. "Ill take them to the camp, and meet you back here."

Jeremy nodded. "Okay."
