Jade murmured drowsily, "I love you....." Then, her head dropped forward, she went limp as unconciousness possesed her. Her breathing was deep, as if she were asleep.

Toby saw that the door was still eaten away. For the most part, this place was abandoned.

He was silent for a moment, and then muttered, "Great." Before coming to the door and sliding through, recoiling momentarily from the sun that had risen. he soon put himself together, however, and dashed into the shade of the forest.

Jade remained as she was, limp in his arms.

When Toby figured that the group was far enough from the labs, he skidded to a halt and cuahgt his breath. The canopy of trees was thick here, blocking out the sun. He sat down on a rock, breathing deeply.

Croy caught himself against a tree, laying Jade out on the hardend, snow-encrusted ground, before falling back himself ans laying there for quite some time, silent as ever.

After a few minuets of this odd silence, however, he managed to speak up. "...Toby, dear, I cant keep doing this." He coughed. "Last time I just about died from exposure. This time, I will- just puke, curl up, and die. I may be immune to my own poison, but everyone dies from exposure if they are left out to long."

Toby whispered, "What did you mean... when you said that breaking the curse had to do with reconnection?" He looked up at Croy, a mixture of sadness and curiousity upon his delicate features. He looked like a tiny angel, like ones painted in chapels and cathedrals of olden days.

At the inquiry, he licked his lips with that thin, snakelike tongue and thought, his face seemingly searching for something. But in the end, he drew up a blank card, and shook his head. "I dont remeber. I dont think I ever remebered in the first place, I was just attempting to."

Jade stirred slightly, then managed to sit up just a bit. "Where am I?" She said groggily, her vision slightly fuzzy, but better than before.

Toby took of his jacket and gave it to Jade. "We're in the middle of the woods."

Jade nodded slowly, then wrapped the jacket around herself. As she did so, she made a slight turning motion, and Toby saw a strange symbol, and then a set of numbers, tattooed onto her lower back. They weren't big, and the numbers were all very uniform. It was all in black ink. He blinked, then puzzled over this.

He turned his head over to Jade, blinking blindly at her. Then he grinned, rows of shapr teeth gleaming from behind the thin lips.

"Why, hello there, babe. Finally come to?" He kidded, the light of good humor and companionship on his face. "I was worried for a little, ya know?"

Jade said, "I feel like someone dropped an anvil on my head."

Toby said, "Jade... what are those numbers on your back?"

Jade's look became grim, almost angry. "The numbers were my identity, the symbol was the brand upon me. They tried to create an artificial pregnancy, but I managed to electricute one of the scientists and burn another. And while that group is only supposed to do experiments... well... some politicians can't get any, if you know what I mean, without paying. So, they were going to sell me to a man and see how it worked out. I wouldn't be anything but a slave, a plaything. Apparently some humans get a kick out of inhuman girls. Revolting. And if I managed to get pregnant, they would take the child, get rid of the evidence."

Croy frowned, and the frown turned into a scowl, those blank black eyes smouldering (Obviously, a blind persons eyes could still show emotion).

"Well, hun, you were lucky we came to get you... again. Awful as that was, im surprised you didnt crack, believe it or not." He yawned, and afterwards, continued his response. "Not that you spending to much time with me wont drive you mad."

Jade looked over at Croy. "Sometimes, the things worth living for outweigh the things that seem impossible to overcome. Besides... I've been in worse scrapes than that." She reached back and touched where the tattoo was, and then she sighed.

Jade said, "Well.... luck doesn't tend to bode well with me whatsoever." She stretched her legs, grateful that she could do it without feeling nearly as much pain.

He paused, curiously. "Well... reacently, it seems to kick in just in time for you. Its just a little late, is all."

Jade sighed softly, then got up to stretch some more, wearing just the jacket. She was glad Croy couldn't see her.

Toby was facing the other way, out of politeness.

Croy stood up as well, but for a diffrent reason. "Jade im going to say this once. I have to go. I cant keep saving your butts, I cant keep coming back for you. Last time we spent a lot of time together, I almost died, and if I get any more exposure to you, I will. So im leaving, now, before I have any more meltdowns. "He sighed. "Theres something you guys can do- something, to let me stay with you- but I cant quite remeber what it is, and I know its not supposed to be enjoyable for the reciving party. That means you, not me. So im leaving."

Yha, he does x3
When Henry's body stopped writhing and was reduced to a twitching, dead heap, he tossed him aside and shot up, feeling along and pulling out what little IV chords that Toby had left. He only heard the swishes of air coming from Jades hands and she flailed, and the soft gasp of her voice as she hallucinated, but it was enough to ask him Toby weather or not this was the right thing to do. "Were trying to save her, you know?"

Kyouri grinned, and stood up, brushing off his hands on his pants. "Come, then. I tink Dani has the girls... but Arayas just over here." He strided to Araya and lifted him, smiling.
Nathaniel smiled at the little boy, "this one, looks like you. but he's got that nice silver hair, like his mom."

Jade turned to Croy and said, "Please, can't you just... isn't there any way I can help you remember? I don't want you to..... go....." Her voice trailed off, and she wrapped her arms tightly around herself.

Toby said, "I don't want you to go either, Croy!"

Araya was gnawing at his fingers (It was more like gumming, but it didnt really matter), his eyes wide and curious at this new man.

He put a hand against a tree, to steady himself. He seemed a bit... far off now, in a distant place. "You know, I didnt used to look like this." He mumbled, quietly. "Besides, you know... the ears. I was born with four ears."

Jade sighed and took her brother by the hand. "Come on Toby.... we should go." She then said to Croy, "Goodbye Croy. If you ever figure out a way for us to help you, don't hesitate to seek us out. Thank you... for everything."

Toby said, "Croy.... I hope you'll remember how to break the curse soon."

They walked through the snow, and into thicker branches and brambles.
