I recently scored a Micro Pets ‘chicken’ clad in this beautiful purple shell. I was expecting it to be like the other Micro Pets I owned but when it started it resembled more of a Penpy or Duckland with the bouncing egg…
…but when it hatched…
It resembles a potato with legs.
It only has two meters, water and worm. I love these options more than anything on the planet right now.
There’s your typical back and forth guessing game, but no happiness meter to fill. He is not needy whatsoever even though he was just born.
Pretty stoked to see what this weirdo turns into.

This is a “poop” but it kind of looks like a steak, the photo on the right is his “happy” face when you win in the game.
The “a” button is frustratingly hard to press on this guy even though I took him apart & cleaned him before use.

Sadly I didn’t catch him before bed but he grew, and bought a blanket, and moves around in his sleep a lot.
I’m excited to see what he looks like in the morning!

The purple “micro pet” is still as cute as can be but I’m hoping he grows again.
I started up a smart chick just for the evolutions!

This guy can take a LOT of neglect-I’ve neglected him for two straight days and was convinced he’d be dead but instead I noticed that he had grown hair…
And then…
Grown into even MORE of a character with legs!!!
I also want to add that his noise is piercing and my cats despise it.

Smart chick is this sprite that I’ve never seen before:
Before this he was the angry little black bird with dreadlocks. Another super low maintenance pet great for busy work weeks!

Bit of a region-specific (and ancient) reference here, but this fella reminds me quite a bit of "TP", the mascot from the Commodore 64 version of Trivial Pursuit.

Potato with huge nose, legs & hair (next to a poo)
I'm a bit worried about the creators of this one, honestly - the poo looks like a burnt tyre...

CHICKEN WITH ATTITUDE! 🤘

Still no changes on his front…but I’ve decided to start a compare and contrast run with two other random ‘chick pets.’

Starting up two chickpets and comparing the differences.
The white with the bow gave me the option to choose English or Japanese, also gave me the option to choose from eggs A, B or C (went with A).
Although both baby forms are rip offs of Bandai p1’s, the pink shell has a much more accurate version, including the same movements as the original tamagotchi. The bow shell’s sprite goes all over the screen yet never smushes past the bottom of the screen.
Each one has a different game as well.

The side view of the bow-girl sprite is too heavy and blocky.

Pink chick has not evolved after almost 20 hours and requires care every 5-10 minutes which would be totally impossible if I wasn’t at home sick. The beeps are super, SUPER annoying and only consist of one tone/note.
The bow girl is more musical and pleasant sounding, has already grown into a nightmare version of a p1 child, check out the side view on that lady.

I probably should have started a new log for this but since the potato with legs has been such a bore (and very well might outlive these two pets) I figured I would post them here.

Okay….let’s talk about this weirdo.
He’s turned into…a lump with short arms & legs…but while eating he’s still nightmare marutchi, and while playing the game he’s like kutchipachi’s little brother but with bigger lips?
…I love it. So much.

You know what I don’t love?
How the pink guy is STILL IN BABY FORM, and still requires care every 5-10 minutes. He often takes naps at random times during the day for about 20-30 minutes (but doesn’t let me turn the lights off) which is a nice relief because this little lady beeps EVERY TIME she needs food or a game or poos or just feels like whining. It’s ocean level care. It’s insane.
Anyways. Happy Easter!!!

Yesterday annoying pink evolved at age “2”(even though I’m pretty sure it’s been 3-4 days)…seems to be ever so SLIGHTLY less needy, today at work it evolved again into Nyorotchi, but when I disciplined it the screen went black and it DE-volved back into kutchitamatchi…(pretty sure that’s its name).

Time stamps included as evidence!!

Wild!!!

Part of me was sadistically hoping this little dude would die because I’ve been hallucinating it’s abrasive beeps before trying to sleep at night. It’s really, reeeealllly testing my patience (but maybe that’s the point?)!
