I saw an old post for symphonic metal so maybe I'm not too out of my element, tell me I'm not the only one? ;P

I love symphonic and folk metal in particular (Eluveitie, Fintroll, Korpiklaani, Metsatoll, etc.), along with classic stufff (Black Sabbath/Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Mercyful Fate, etc.), black metal (Cradle of Filth), spooky/dark stuff (Moonspell), the occasional thrash (Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Death, Anthrax) the list goes on. ...I've also got a defnite soft spot for post-punk/goth (The Cure, Feilds of the Nephilim, The sisters of Mercy).

A lot of the stuff I like (folk/symph metal) gets zero radio play but just like the internet brought us in the US nifty Japanese toys, there's a lot of cool music at our fingertips and I've been lucky to find bands I love and even get to see some really amazing stuff live (Nightwish, Therion, Metsatol, Tyr, and Eluvetie so far).

Anyone else into *any* metal?

YEP.

Um... I don't know if it's metal, but I do like AC/DC, Warrant, Muse (some of their songs have AMAZING guitar play *____*) and more that I can't be bothered to say.

But I do like metal :D

I don't consider myself a metalhead because I just don't care about genres, but it's true that I listen to a lot of metal stuff. Some of my favourites are In Mourning, Rings of Saturn, TerassacT, Anthelion, Born of Osiris, Dream Theater, Cadaveria, Lifelover, Sólstafir, Apokefale and maybe Trivium. I don't know that much about genres because I don't really care about them so excuse me if something I mentioned is not exactly ''metal''

I think metalhead/goth was a subculture I left behind when I was 16 and leaving school not in the way that I stopped living and loving that lifestyle but in a way that you leave the young kids that like to group everyone into cliques and when you get to college you just surround yourself with decent people who can't really be bothered to get into all that business but I've always been alternative and metal/rock is my genre of choice for many many reasons and I'll be a fan of the good stuff for probably the rest of my life.

I was never into any subculture/group, just listen to a ton of music, especially on the job or while working around home.

I still love the bands I was listening to at a kid, too.

Very cool! I really like Dream Theater, the rest I'm not up to speed on but I'll have to give them a listen. I like all sorts of stuff, I just listed genres for the sake of organization. Some people can be really snobbish about music, I've never been bothered by someone having different tastes. =p

Enthusiasm for any music is fine by me! Gonna have to look up Muse, now.

This thread inspired by the weird looks I got playing Tamagotchi while listening to Slayer... I am a multi-facetted personality. 9_6

Talking of people being snobbish about music... I don't get why people feel the need to get involved in other peoples taste of music in a negative way it's like bashing people for liking or disliking peanut butter or something stupid along those lines or claiming that they are more of a hardcore fan then someone else is also dumb you like the same thing can't you just apreciate that.

It's such a childish view to want to argue about pointless things.

I love metal and rock as I stated before and I still get weird and rude reactions when I tell people I'm also a cpop, kpop, jpop and jrock fan.

Dream Theater is all I ever listen to. Saw them live a few weeks ago, and am still fangirling like crazy. Their style is rather unique (and the complexity is musically brilliant) - I absolutely love them, but do not really listen to other metal bands. Don't mind some classic Black Sabbath either! Can't do thrash though

I hardly consider myself a metalhead as I tend to listen to a wide array of music, but I definetly love Metallica, Motorhead, and of course The Prince of Darkness :) I used to listen to Nightwish time ago but since when Tarja left I kinda stopped following them, never got used to Annette's voice...so yeah, I listen to some metal :)

This made me laugh a bit when I read the title. I wouldn't consider myself a metalhead because I listen to pretty much everything but I do listen to a lot of metal almost on a daily basis.

I'm not partial to metal subgenres either -I guess I'm very easy to please acoustically- but among the things I've been listening to lately: Whispered, Therion, Korpiklaani, Amon Amarth, Cradle of Filth, Paradise Lost

TBH metal is almost my least favorite genre XD But if there was a metal Tamagotchi song I'd probably listen to it, lol.
