Owlbear is a creature with the body of a bear and the head of an owl. In Super Puyo Puyo TSU he was stage 1 in practice mode and wanted to steal Arle's money to make a boat and defeat a fish called "Satan Salmon" (this may refer to Satan).

He is the final boss in the original version of Madou Monogatari: A and reoccurs three times.

He is one of the few characters who debuted in Wizard Raruba (the spiritual prequel to the Madou Monogatari series).

Amitie is a cheerful, female denizen of Primp Town. She wishes to become a "wonderful magic user." Her personality is seemingly a symbol for innocence - she is often immature, and sometimes does not understand simple jokes or puns. Amitie is the heroine of the second course in Puyo Puyo Fever, and is generally accepted as the main character in the Fever series (replacing the previous heroine of Classic Puyo Puyo, Arle.) Her birthday is May 5th, notable for being Children's Day, fitting for her childish personality.

In Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary, however, he has successfully won her heart, and considers himself her exclusive bodyguard. His birthday is September 29th, the same day as Klug's. His Japanese name is portmanteau of Oni which means demon or ogre, and Onion. In the plot in Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary reveals (with thought bubbles) that he refers to himself as a "hard-boiled tough guy" and hates it when anyone describes him as "cute".
