It looks like a first run design. Maybe it's an Australian package? (Asia/Pacific) They get different packages. But it looks legit to me.

I've had one of those Tamagotchis, and it's as real as V3's can get.

Yes, it is an official v3. I found one on ebay and it is from another country.

That's not true, actually. Aussie V3s came in a red rectangular package, and V4s did not. There were two different V4 packages we got in Australia: one that was sky blue, similar to the UK package but more rectangular, and another that was exactly the same as the American package.

My blue wave V3 looks just like that, except it dosen't have connection below tamagotchi on the unit. Does the battery cover have BanDai on it, and the year 2004? If it does, it's legit.
