So on Amazon, the Pix has a set release date for Jan 9th, 2022. But on the Best Buy page, it says it’s available and ready for pickup where i live. What’s up with that?

It is definitely out since July! There are two waves they first released the purple and pink shells. By December they will release both blue and green shells.

Yup, I own one (and I got it from Amazon). Maybe Amazon is just out of stock, or it's one of the shell designs that hasn't released yet that you're looking at.

The pink and purple definitely are, but the blue and green that were originally set for December have been postponed to Jan 9th due to stock issues. I had a green on preorder, since that was originally the shell I wanted a best pal Neliatchi on. 
Side note, weird how I've warmed up to the device quite this much, after using the refund I got for a replacement. My purple was too glitchy to enjoy. I recommend to return for replacement if that happens to you! The games like ping pong are so fun once they're actually playable.
