Is the 4U a power hog?

I'm gonna get a 4U soon (purple colored), and I'm wondering if it takes so much energy from two batteries.

The batteries last around 3-4 weeks if you have the contrast setting as low as possible. It's this way for all color Tamagotchis, I believe.

Okay, cool! However, is the contrast already set to low when you first start it up? Or is it sort of high in contrast?

I am using sunbeam batteries... Last about a week at normal contrast, no sound. I didn't use the in box batteries... If they had a way to turn of NFC, (or do) and you find out how to, it will increase the battery life I would think.

OMG my batteries only lasted two weeks in low brightness... Ok, I've been playing a lot with my tama, but maybe the Toshiba batteries that were bundled with this Tamagotchi, haven't got a lot of charge. Idk
