My little "toy" I have used is an IPAQ, Pocket PC.... Also spelled as IPac to some.... But its a "Q" I have it and trying to work this currently... It said I sent a jpg file but I cannot find the jpg at all... It was saved under the Tama-Zone program for the IDL.... the .rar wasn't sent at all, nor was it able to be...
-most content on the IPAQ I am trying to use was removed-
Otherwise, they have lists of IR phones with images of them online. I found a list of like 20? off of google, one of the first links... Most of those I veiwed can be pricey too...
Another Idea... A Diabetic Meter... Someone I know has a Meter that transfers thier blood sugar via IR... the type is an Accu-Check meter... But with that you need to use a beaming program... There are tons out there online... I haven't figured out this one yet either... It comes with a CD program... but I doubt that would work for a IDL. You need to look at the boxes and such to make sure the newer styles have one, I believe they do, but I'm not sure.
Lots of people like the idea of using a PSP (Plastation Portable....) then it works fairly simply like a phone would.
Maybe abuse a Remote control for a computer/laptop...? Those are everywhere too, those mostly use IR... I think.
I think someone hacked the crap out of one of their DS games if you have a Nintendo DS game with an IR................ HIGHLY doubt you want to do that.... I think it was a weird Japanese IR game though.... Where you can play roms and such. I don't know how they would have done that.
YES, this is long, me spitting out more ideas other than the IR Phones... There are way more IR things out there then most people think about....
