And good for you! I'm a pianist standing against grades for now. I think people give up because they just don't want to play the stuff the grades offer..

So I play music that I love, and in a year my skills went from a failing grade one to a strong grade five. Now, a little less than another year later, my teacher told me I could play grade eight, if it weren't for the scales that I don't know xD

Almost gave up myself, I'll admit -shot-.. Thank god I didn't, now piano is the greatest joy in my life <3
