Yes I really am...I'm freaking 23 years old, I'm a school teacher and now I rebooted my Tama P2 from 1997....

IT'S ALL I HAVE SNIFFF... didn't know that there were newer versions available through ebay....

But now I have a problem....The screws are a bit broken because they were really stuck and you can see tiny tooth marks in it from my shi- tzu... apparently he thought it was a cookie... Nothing happened with the screen (pffieuw) and it's running again :).

So I want to buy a new one from 1997, but they are soooooooooo expensive my god!!!!

Now i'm also learning what all the differences are between the existing tamagotchi's and I already bought a music star via ebay.

I'm still waiting for it to arrive...I just bought it a couple of days ago and already i'm running to the mailbox every single day when I hear the postman.

Did you guys also start your collection like this, with only one, or even none? And I'm really curious now...How much has your collection already cost you ??

My collection didn't cost anything. Out of 6 collected they were all gifts.

I have a collection of 32 Tamas and I paid about $400 over the course of two years. I'm only 11 so it was REALLY hard to save all that money...I was born near the time the V1 was released and by the time of the V4 I was 5 years old and got into Tamas. I've been collecting since I was 8. I have Tamas from both before and after I was born. My main sources of collecting:

  • eBay. I buy almost all my Tamas second-hand off eBay, it's the cheapest option. As long as the seller has good reputation and a clear photo of the Tama they're selling and specify it works, apart from slow delivery second hand is just as good as new.
  • My brother. I have an 8-year-old brother who used to like Tamas (and has been into them for as long as I have, even though I'm a fair amount older) and he's been slowly draining out his Tamas to me for amazingly cheap prices for a few years. He's sold me Tamas for as little as $2 each - perfectly functional and near-new ones. His last were sold to me today - where else am I supposed to get an iD L for $20 and a V5 for $7?

I'd check out eBay if I were you, and once you have a few English Tamas you might want to become a real collector and try the rare, expensive, Japanese ones. I especially recommend the iD L and iD L 15th Anniversary, I don't like them but everyone else does.

My final comment is: Don't worry, you're not the only one in your situation! TamaTalk gets its fair share of adults in their 20s who haven't played with Tamas since the 90s, and a lot of them become great members and/or avid Tamagotchi collectors. :)

I started my collection with a Pink Ribbons V3. :,) I loved that thing so much, I took it everywhere with me and connected with aalllll of my friends who also had Tamagotchis. *sigh* The good days...

How much my collection has cost me? Um...

Let's see...

My V1, two of my V3's, one of my V4's, and my V5 were given to me as gifts, so I have no idea how much they cost. xDD

My other V3's were about $20 each, my V4 and V4.5 probably cost the same, my Tama Go was $4 (BNIB, may I add), my regular iD L was....$75? My 15th iD L was $80.

That adds up to...$269. xDDD Wait...plus $0.60 for my figures. So...$269.60.

All my Tamagotchis but my iD L's came from stores when they still stocked them. -.- The iD L's were ordered on eBay.

Thank you guys so much for giving me all this courage :-D!!

Oké so for now I have 2 P2's (both red, one is an old one from my younger brother, but he hates them now so :p !!)

I bought a V6 and it's on it's way from hong kong, I should get it this week or the beginning of the next one, so pff the waiting is long!!

This weekend I bought a Tama-go from Canada on ebay, he will ship it tomorrow, exciting isn't it !!! :D woehoew!!!

And now I'm trying to get a V4.5 but it hate the betting on it... so hope I will win, wish me luck!

Then I'll stop buying them for at least one month (paycheck must come in first lol).

And for the future I definitely hope to get a P1, V1, V2, V3, V4, V4.5 (if I don't win the bet), V5 , V5.5, Angelgotchi, and ofcourse the ID L :) !!!

So that means I'll have tot do a lot of teaching hahaha :D !!! (I'm a kindergarten teacher)
