ID-L paint issue!

Hello everyone! Lately I've been quite busy so I had to pause my tamas for about a week or two. Today I unpaused them and I noticed something on my ID-L. I have a purple one, and it has always been partially purple (back) and partially greyish-purple (front). I always thought it was due to the silver thing surrounding the faceplate, so I didn't give it too much importance. But now it seem to have worsened: the front half of the tama is almost yellow-greyish and I don't understand why.

Have some of you had the same problem (with ID-L, of course)? Is it a "purple-only" problem? I'm a tiny bit disappointed because I bought that tama NEW just few months ago.... and I still haven't seen on the Internet any "half-colored" tamas like mine.

I read somewehere on this forum that ID-L paint can wear off, but I don't think mine actually wore off... it's more like it's been "deteriorated" (don't know if the word is correct XD). Let me know if you noticed something similar or at least heard about that!

I don't know why, anyway, my iD L 15th anniversary has the same problem...

Oh noes, my 15 iD L is the purple one too, I hadn't heard of this before, hopefully someone knows a way to stop the colouring to turn all weird

ID Ls use bad paint, it discolors and comes off easily. I've seen pictures of white and blue iD Ls with bad paint so it's not only purple ones. Although, mine is purple and has half the silver paint missing...

That happened to my friend's ID L also. We gave it a good smack and kinda solved it...Idk if its useful though

That's strange, this hasn't happened with my purple iD L. I can think of a few possibilities:

1. Different paint. I have an English iD L - I believe they might be made in different factories. This might explain why I haven't experienced the discoloration.

2. Exposure to sunlight. I always keep mine in a pouch by itself.

3. Rubbing. If you keep it in your pocket or bag, the movement amongst other items and/or friction would wear down the paint.

4. The front and back pieces have different coatings or finishes. This is the least likely explanation, in my opinion.

@Antiscian Cats: about number 2 and 3: I always keep it in a crochet case too and I don't play with it too much, so that's why I'm so surprised it got ruined so fast! I think the most possible thing is number 4, unless it's really the silver paint on the ring around the faceplate that is going everywhere on my tama I'll edit and post a pic of how it is now.

It looks like the plastics pigmentation was a bit rubbish and so it faded to me =n=. Happens with mass produced plastic stuff a lot >n<.
