okay so i used to have one way way back in the day and now i want to get another one im not sure whats the difference between them all.

im going to buy one from amazaon

can someone tell me what the difference is

and maybe help me find one on amazon i dont want to get some fakes i heard theres some going around?

Hello! First off, welcome to TamaTalk! Could you possibly narrow it down a bit? The difference between...which and which? It's just that there are so many versions of Tamagotchi out there, and it would probably take quite some time to describe them all to you. I would highly recommend first checking out the list of Tamagotchi releases (once Wikipedia opens up again...I heard they were going out of commission for the next 24 hours or something like that ) and then just using this site as your resource and just browse around if you get the chance. In terms of detecting fakes and whatnot out there, if you're able to look at the packaging or shell of the Tamagotchi unit, just make sure that it either has the Bandai logo or says "Bandai" on it and you should be good. Please let us know if you have any specific questions.

Yes, that is a real one. Music Stars are VERY, very needy. If you're just starting out, I would recomend a V3 or V4.

The best way to get a feel for a Tama is to check out some logs, so I'd do that if I were you.

Well, it's hard to say if one's "good" or not, because we don't know about your personality. Do you like needy Tamas, or ones that can be left alone for hours at a time? Do you want one that does animations throughout the day? Do you want one with an online Tamatown? Give us details.

Logs are like a journal that a Tama owner keeps. They can include pictures, stories, ect. but it's easier just to check one out.

Yes, they all have kids if you catch the matchmaker. On the older Connections (The "V" series, as in V3), she's very hard to catch but on the V5-Tama-go it's really easy.

Animations are just cute little things that your Tama (depending on what version you have) does throughout the day, like sing, or watch TV, or blow bubbles ect. Only the older Connections do those, though.

Yes, if you get a Connection (or vintage, or new Japanese, for that matter) then you can pause it.

Yes, you could, but it also stunts the growth, so it's better not to do that. ie, if you pause it for 7 hours while you're at work, then it will be 7 hours behind schedule for evolutions.

You could always go on eBay, they have Tamas for much, much less than Amazon, trust me. <_<

Yes it goes online and has what (most) of the others have, and much more.

But be prepared, it is really, REALLY needy.

By the way, the Mori de Hakken! Tamagotch (Morino Tamagotch Vintage) only has the feature of the eating poop? I saw a picture of that in OST's log. Pretty weird...

With the music star you can go online. Yes,it has all the basic options that other tamagotchi's have. Although, each tamagotchi has something that makes it different. Like on the V5 you need to care for a family (3 people I think). On Tamagotchi Music Star, you get to create your own band! Yes,you can name the band, go to concerts and play Mini Games. I think every tamagotchi has an option for Shop.

It's the latest English-language Tamagotchi release. There's a great TMGO log by binary that I always reference when I have questions about the TMGO. It's very detailed and a great read.

@Orandatchi: You're right...sort of. When the Morino character reaches a certain stage, a pile of poo is one of the food options. That's not to say that it eats its own poo though. In any case, Violetchilluvr3 is correct. The original poster meant to use commas in between each feature. XD
