I need advice on resetting tama's!

Okay, I am a really big fan of Tamagotchis and I need advice. I always start a Tamagotchi but have a terrible habit of resetting over and over again. I want a companion, not something I'm going to restart and forget about. I want a Tama that I will actually stick with and keep. I don't want to reset anymore. What should I think about? What should I do? I want a Tama I won't kill by poking that evil little button!!!!!!!!

Get a version where the evolution is qick ane youndont have to sit around with them for days waiting for the matchmaker. Think of all the generations you could raise and the character history...
