Hi. I have 2 tamas. A V5, and a V6. I want some more. I was gonna get the Angel first, but its rly rare and expensive. Then I was gonna get the V3. I heard it's rly bad. Then I was gonna get the iD L. I want a tama in english/american. So. What will my 3rd tama be? You decide..........

My preferences.

Something not too rare; I have to be able to buy one.

Not too needy, but not too un-needy either.

Not too modern(So that it seems like a pet, not a person.)

but not something seriously old-fashioned either. (So that it seems like a pet, not a rock.)

^^ So yeah, I want it to seem like my pet. Not my child. :L

A tama where you can marry and have babies and generations and stuff.

Something in English/American (So that I can understand it loool)

Not a tama that you HAVE to buy stuff for(like figurines for the tama-go) but pouches and stuff are okay I guess

Not a HUGE one, but not a TEENY one either. Average size. Like the V6.

CHEAP. (well, something affordable for a 11 year old)

Oh, and I want a TAMAGOTCHI. Not a virtual pet in GENERAL. A tamagotchi.

Please tell me my dream tama exists. Thank yoouuuu!!! :furawatchi: *hopeful*

Well, the IDL is a nice tama but.... If you are worried you cant use it due to the language... If you can run a tama in general, you should be fine. Just once you learn where stuff is, after that... You should be fine.

But if you want an english one.... I would get get a v4 or a v4.5 ( ball antennae or star antennae)

Has lots of games, characters and many of the designs are really neat looking.

Maybe you should try the V4. The games are great! You can also get your tamagotchi a job. The Tamatown is nice for it as well. So yeah, I'm suggesting V4 - but you might get a bit bored of it after a few weeks ;)

Thanks guys. But now I have a question... Is there a tamagotchi colour out there in english?????

All of them are great. The v3 is awesome I love it one of my favorite tamagotchis. Plus certain ones have heartbeats(Stick it up to your ear and listen/ It is completely normal btw). The ID L I have never had one but everybody on here raves about them saying it is easy to understand and stuff. The angle... Not really that rare, or expensive. A japanese one in box would be like $45 US dollars. I bought my used American one for 30 US Dollars. Also there seems to be alot of them for sale on T bay lately. I personally have the tamagotchi angel and I love it one of my new favorite tamas. Go with the ID L in my opinion they are in color! I wish I had one xD now I am jealous. To be honest in my opinion I have never played a bad tamagotchi some however are just not as much fun as others. Anyways enjoy your new purchase.

...That's a lot of conditions. But it's not hard to find a tama that's perfect for you. :)

Like SailorRosette said, a V4 or V4.5 would be great for you. It's got some, but not too many features and they're generally cheap. They're pretty much the same size as the V6 (although I think that the V4.5 is the weeniest bit thinner than a V5). Honestly, I think you should really invest in a V3 (they're not bad at all! Far from!) and/or a V2. Both have features, but not too many so they're more like a pet, cute, unique characters (a whale with a mustache. Really. Can one get awesomer? I think not), they're perfectly low maintenance and both come at pretty good prices, although you might have to wait for a bit for a good deal. :)

I would probably recommend a v4.5 for you. It was my very first tama. My cousin gave it to me for Christmas... oh I don't know... like maybe 5 years ago now? And I've loved tamas since. They are pretty easy to take care of and you don't have to worry about stress and all like you do on a Music Star. Plus, the characters are all super cute. The special thing about v4.5s is that you can raise ura characters on it. Uras are like regular characters, just the opposite. (Ura meaning opposite in Japanese.) For example, you can raise an Ura Mametchi, a Mametchi with a tail. Or an Ura Memetchi, a Memetchi with wings. So that's pretty cool. You can also have your tama get a variety of different jobs depending on what skill points you have. That's what I would recommend for you. ;) Hope I helped!

(I love the topic title! :D )

Well, the v3s aren't bad. Thay are actually one of my favourite versions because of

the games, characters, the way it looks, ect... Basically everything. I recomend the v3 but I've got a v2 and they are fun but

basic if that's what you want. Hope this helps! :)

Thanks guys. I want an american/english angel if possible, xxKuchipatchixxx, but they are extreamly hard to find since they don't sell them anymore, thus making them more expensive. On ebay a brand new angel is like $170. A used one is like $50. I really want one, but owning one is a dream I'll never achive. :(

I'm going to give the V3 a chance. I found one on ebay for like $25. Is that a good deal? Sorry, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to prices. :L

Sorry guys, but the V4... It kinda takes the feel of it being a pet away with the whole job thing... But I guess it wouldn't hurt to try one like that. Yeah, I'll give it a try.

I might try out the V4.5 too. Maybe. ;)

Oh, and what version is this tama? It certainly seems very... Original.

Oh and btw can you get married on the V3 and V4 and V4.5?
The key to getting a good deal is patience. Here's my story about this: I was given $80 CAD to spend on whatever I wanted. I immediately jumped for a Buy-It-Now 15th Anniversary iD L that was $90 in total. I begged to be allowed to order it, but my dad said, "I'm sure one in your budget will pop up eventually." (I will never take his words for granted again.) Somebody bought that 15th Anniversary, and I was pretty upset. However, a few weeks later, an even cheaper one with a good starting price came onto eBay! I was so excited! I got my dad to bid on it at my maximum price and I even won the auction without sniping or anything of that nature at all. The price fit exactly in my budget and it's on the way right now. :) So, the moral is to wait and see, because if you wait long enough, a cheap Angel or other Tamagotchi will surely pop up.

Erm....$25 (you're talking about USD, right?) is a bit overpriced from what they sold for back when V3's were released. I would keep that in mind, but search for a better deal as well.

The Tamagotchi you posted a link to is a P1 or a P2, a more educated user here can probably identify it. :p I'm pretty sure it's an American release.

Yes, on all versions you can get married, either by IR connection to another Tamagotchi or via the matchmaker.

Don't worry, even though they don't sell lots of versions of Tamagotchis anymore, you will be sure to find at least one good deal on eBay. :)

Good luck with your buying!

A p2 me-thinks... P2 has a wavy thing background while the p1 has checkers... I cant see for sure, but I think its a p2.

If you are dead set on getting an angel... Try a japanese one. They are way cheaper and you are more likely to find a new in package. Yes, its japanese... But this could also be your tester for the IDL tama. If you can run that, you will be fine. Although, I understand why you prefer english. I was that way too, but I broke down and tried one.

But waiting is a good idea. Angels have been popping up time to time on buy it now, on the Usa ebay site. Some, crazy good deals. You just need to remember to look.

Edit: all tamas with IR (infared) can marry, and the osu mesu pairs. The older 96-97 do not beside the osu mesu pairs. They stay until they get old or get home sick.... Etc.

Um...I think the Devilgotchi is the parallel to the Angel, although those are harder to find and more expensive.....in terms of vintages, which angels are, maybe....I can't think of a cheap and not so needy one xD

^^ Awww that's a shame. I suppose when get my Japanese-English English-Japanese dictionary I could study it a bit, learn basic Japanese, and get the iD L!!!!!!!!! Erm.

I just want to say, it might be easier to get a kick start to Japanese if you have some ground in Chinese, because once you get into Kanji, that's based on Chinese characters, and virtually, if you know some Chinese, then Kanji will be easier for you. :)

EDIT: If you want to understand your iD L, you'd have to study Hiragana AND Katakana, two of the three Japanese dialects. If you want to be able to read and understand what characters are saying, you'll have to know quite a few words, conjugating, and all that fun stuff.

Yeah, that's what I'll be aiming for, then.

Oh, and I don't know Chinese.

That's fine, it just might be a bit harder understanding Kanji if you go into it, but no matter. :)

Start now! The iD L uses a mix of hiragana and Katakana, along with small characters (ex: っ,ょ) and combination letters (ex: じょ, ぽ,きゃ).
