Above are some of the most common ways of pronouncing Tamagotchi. How do you pronounce Tamagotchi? I chose the second one- 'Tamagotch' and 'Tamagotchi'.

Teh meh go chee.

I kinda like it that way ^.^.

But I'll occasionally say tah mah gah chee.

And ichigotchi... is it (ee-chee-gah-chee) or (ee-chee-go-chi?)

I say it somewhat Tom-Uh-Gaw-Chee. (I'm not familiar with the way you write pronouncing!)

I pronounce it:

Tah-Mah-Gaw-Chi

Tah-Mah-Gaw-Cheese

But it's supposed to be pronounced:

Tah-Mah-Goat-Chi

Tah-Mah-Goat-Cheese

Considering tamagotchis are Japanese, the correct form of plural would be the same as the singular, seeing as in the Japanese language there is usually no distinction between plural and singular. So, technically it should be 'tamagotchi'.

And the correct way of pronouncing tamagotchi is "tah-mah-goe-tchee" with a tiny pause between the goe and the tchi, as characterized by the baby tsu for anyone familiar with Japanese. But I don't expect anyone to do that, so you can ignore that bit.

Oh, and the "tchee" can also be just "tch". It's simply a matter of preference. Not pronouncing the "ee" is a colloquial thing. I have heard both from native Japanese speakers.

[As most of you know, it comes from 'tamago' and 'tomodachi', egg and friend respectively.]

Ichigotchi is "Ee-chee-goe-tchi". ['ichigo' being strawberry, and with the same pause.]

Of course, that is only from the point of view that tamagotchi names should be pronounced in the Japanese way, considering they ARE Japanese.

I hope someone found this helpful. ._.

I've got a lot more posts than I thought!

A Japanese exchange student came and I asked her. She said "tamago" means egg and "tchi" means little, but it could also be "tamago" for egg and "tomodachi" for friend...

Here some people pronounce it "tah-mah-goh-tchee" with the occasional sense of "gah" popping in for the third syllible (excuse the spelling).

I say Tamagotch. I went into Target, saw the Tamagotchi Minis, and said to my mum, "I want a Tamagotch Mini!" One time I got her saying Tamagotch as well. I say the plural of Tamagotch is Tamagotchi, though many say Tamagotchis, and at the back of my v3's package it says "connect with other Tamagotchis".

It really depends on your accent!

Ye, the Spanish say it comnpletely different!

As I said before, I say;

Teh ( as in get) Meh (as in get) Goe (As in 1 2 3 go!) chee (as in cheese)

Sometimes in a great while I'll say

Tah (as in October) Mah (As in October) Gah ( as in October) Chee (as in cheese

Because the second is how my friends say it.

For plurals I simply add an S, and pronounce it, too.

So yea....

P.s. I live i nAmerica, was born and raised here to just for some background.
