How could I get my friend to like tamagotchis?

My best friend just doesn't like tamagotchis. I tell her they are fun and I try to get her interested but it doesn't make any differenece. She agreed to get an account on tama town but she hardly ever uses it. I've been considering getting her a tamagotchi (probably V4 or V4.5) for her birthday, but she doesn't seem to really care. Don't get me wrong, I completely respect her opinion, but I would like to know if there's some way I could get her interested in tamas a little bit.

I often think about this too, I'd like to buy one of my friend's a Tama because it'd definitely be funner if you had someone to talk about them to, and to connect with. If she/he is your best friend, then I'd just buy them the Tama for their birthday. If they end up not playing with it, you could always ask to take it back, I'm sure your best friend won't care. If they get bored with it, offer to take them out for lunch or something instead and just ask for the Tama back. No big deal, it's worth a shot.

Some people just aren't into them... Just like how a lot of us on here are die-hard Tama fans, a lot (and the majority of) are die-hard non-Tama fans. I know, I'm not very helpful, sorry.

we're all entitled to what we don't and do like. i respect my friend's liking for make up and fashion, and she respects my love for tamagotchis. i don't think you can necessarily convince her to like tamagotchi, but maybe she'll try giving it a shot. and it doesn't hurt to give her a really fun version so she doesn't get a negative view of tamagotchi.

Yup I'd just gift her one for her birthday. I did that a few times for a few friends. I have a friend who is about ten years older than me, with two kids(I'm 24)....One day I was over visiting and she saw me whip mine out of my purse and she started asking what it was, made fun of me, and when she played with it for a second then she loved it too. I gave her the one I was playing and then a few months later I bought her the v5 when it first came out...Not too long ago she called and told me she had bought another older version from the checkout line at Big 5. I started laughing so hard. See you never know! Thought I might add that I was lol'ing so much because when she called to tell me she bought it she had called it a Takokatchi LMAO.
