I don't see any insecurity in any of their posts about first judgment or hell.

Your post earlier was taking some simple questions in an offensive context. Calm down, buddy. We're not going to eat you.

Tad more on topic, I'm not sure what to think anymore religion-wise. I've always grown up with religion being crammed down my throat.

 
And Hell wasn't my point. My point was why you felt Christians shoved their religion down people’s throat! (I know that wasn't you're exact words, but that was your point. Right?)

His point was that you were also implying the supposed fact that nonbelievers go to hell, which judged by your post, you were.

Why are you both tag-teaming and messing with him? Just because he's willing to state he doesn't believe in God, and that he doesn't like how both of you are implying that nonbelievers go to 'hell', doesn't mean you should both try to attack him to justify yourselves.

Sorry no offence to those who believe but I'm an athiest which means I have no religion so I don't believe in god. It's because of all the trouble that used to happen and still does happen about religions I think it's a wise option to not have one. I'll believe in god when I see him.

Mamita, if you were reading his posts, you would have noticed he said he didn't want to change, and he didn't like when people tried to change him.

Don't try to antagonize him to get him to reply.

Stop defending him? I'm sorry, but I won't stop defending him. I'd defend you if you needed it, but you don't right now.

I'll tone down a bit, but I want everybody here not to mess with others because of their beliefs. The topic of religion is a very touchy thing. It's their own choice, not anyone else's. I am sorry about how I sounded hostile, but I am not sorry about defending him.

 
as always... debates about God tend to descend into bickering and misunderstandings... some things never change ;)

God doesn't belong to Christians, he is also worshipped by Jews and Muslims (for example). Some believe, some don't - that's how it is and we are all charged with respecting the opinions of others on TamaTalk.

Keep this debate polite, mature and sensible as per the forum rules (no exceptions, no excuses).

If you want to post a reply, please take time to review it before you add it to the topic and assess it carefully to check if it could be misinterpreted by another member or if it could offend.

 
Now, i am seeing some athiests or non-believers with christmas avvies and christmas siggies also. And i ask myself Why?? christmas is the birth of Jesus Christ. Ever think why its called Christmas. Sorry if i am being rude :) but thats just how i feel....it is commercialized so much, some things are fun though like the decorated trees and homes! Another thing i would like to say is well giving presents is baised on when they gave gifts to Jesus on Christmas i am not trying to be annoying but i had to get that out...I feel better ;)

Yeah, I see what you are saying and why you don't believe in him, but...

He could've created the world. The world is so perfect, in balance, all living things live here perfectly (I could go on). Therefore, surely someone with high intellegence could create the world.

And people always say: 'Read the Bible! It's proof God exists!'. Well, I don't think of the Bible as something like that. The Bible is something we need to interpret correctly. Some people interpret it wrong, meaning they find it hard to believe. I completely understand, I was feeling like that for a while, too. :)

Back to topic.. I guess I count as a Seventh Day Adventist, if you still count my religious counter-self. Props to those who actually know what that is.

After taking Philosophy courses, you realize almost all religions say that the other religions are immoral and wrong. If you note how almost all religions have some similarities, you could actually guess that there may have been a 'father' religion, that could have been very close to Catholicism or Christianity with its monotheism, or it could have been something along the line of Egypt's polytheistic views and just branched into monotheism. Sorry if I sound like I'm rambling in this paragraph, but I'm not. :3

 
I mainly belive in God, sometimes I have my doubts, but mostly, I know God is there. :)

Stop this nonsence. Look, you are NOT going to just "change" or "convert" him- it is NOT your job to do so. You can tell people but when they refuse you have to drop it. Why? Because it is not your job and if you keep throwing this at him, well, I wonder why he's probably irritated by Christians. Because you don't know where to stop throwing it at him and where to just say, okay. :/

There's a difference between a little debate to prove this or that or a simple thought question-answer deal but when you are tag teaming him like this, it's not cool. Jesus doesn't like when we try to do this whole deal when he doesn't want to go into it.

Now, no more or this topic is going to close.
