When my best friend gets her periods at school, (She's 12.) She normally gets me or my friend to hold a little bag with a pad in it because she doesn't want too many people to know about it.

My other friend has her period too and she got it when she was 11.

Periods and puberty sucks, lolz, thank gosh I didn't get any cramps!!! *does a dance* Getting your period isn't that bad, it just kinda sucks thats all. :D So if you have'nt got yours, don't get all freaked out cause it's not a big deal, you will get used to it. I used to be freaked out about it last year but this year it don't matter!
Yeh, they can kinda suck. I get cramps, however, so I just use midol.

I eat chocolate to have a happy period!

ninny308, what are you currently getting? If discharge, you are most likely in stage 3 and will get your first period 6 to 24 months after a first sight of discharge. You can read this too see about where you are and get a hint for when you could get your first period.

Does every girl get discharge? I don't think I got any, unless I just didn't notice it. And if you think you're going to get cramps with your period, you might not cuz everyone is different and some people get cramps and others don't.

You can begin wearing pantiliners every day for two reasons:

1. It could help protect your underwear from being stained by menstrual blood

2. It can also help protect your underwear from discharge.

So it can be convenient to invest in some pantiliners. You never know, but you might soon see blood on one!

Everyone is different, everyone gets theirs at different times.

Some kids even get them at 9, and I read on this topic that theres a disese or something where you can get it at 2 or 3 :(

That is called prcouss(sp.?) Puberty.

You're right, but it's spelled precocious puberty. Sry if I sound mean. On page 5 of this thread when Bell Sprout re-opened it she added a paragraph about precocious puberty. I will quote it for everyone.

A few of you have been discussing the likelihood of a 5-year-old becoming pregnant. This unfortunately can be true. There is a condition called idopathic central precocious pubertySEE THIS SITE in which puberty, including menstrual periods occur in females 8 years of age in females and can occur as early as 3 months old. If a child with precocious puberty is ***** then they are able to fall pregnant.
