Thx, Just kinda curious. it is weired how when you get farther into puberty the more you care about your apperance and have lesser respect for your parents. Any Thoughts?
It's not all the time kids start caring more how they look and less about respect. Those things are becuase of diffent body developements [such as hormones] but it's really your choice to repect your parents or try to look nicer. It's not directly related but is a side step. 'Likeing' guys or girls comes with hormones, and when someone likes another they usualy try to get the persons attention and impress them. Hormones also can makes us feel we need to do better in how we dress too, so some of us do but others still don't care.

Did that make sense?

Yes, I think that made since. :)

I think this topic has helped me understand things more about this... I have 'The Video' this coming-up Friday. All my friends have to go, so I told my mom I would see it too, just so I'm somewhat prepared for the future. I heard some schools give out baggies with deodorant, pads, etc. Makes me kind of uncomfortable talking about it...

No, I've not had my first period yet. I'm only 11, but then again a family member of mine had their's when they were 9, and my sis had hers when she was 13. I'm pretty much in the middle. My mom did say that eating chocolate helps cure cravings, and Midol cures cramps. As for mood swings, well, people will just have to deal with it! :(

Ok good. ^^

The more you hear/learn about things like puberty that happens anyways the easier and more comfortable it is to talk about it.

Some schools do give out 'goodie bags' but I talked my mom out of making me go to the second 'movie'. I kind of regret it now, I think I should have gone. I was just immature. xD

I heard they show the students' opposite sex's videos in 8th grade (where I live).Should be interesting for the boys. :(

I rumor went around the middle school in my area that a girl (12 years old) got pregnant. It turns out she wasn't, but she tried to run away from home and was sent to a boarding school. :)

Round my area a girl who was in year 7, Probably about 12 years old I think. Got pregnant and miscarried and she carried on trying to get pregnant but I don't think she's ever gone through the whole pregnancy process even though she was most likely trying for a baby.

I don't know why she'd even want a baby at 12..And I haven't a clue who would want to have sex with a 12 year old [if he was older]. I don't know if it was a rumour but when people asked her she always said "I am pregnant".."I was pregnant but lost it".

Maybe it was a cry for attention.

That is sad. :[

Well there are weird people out there...

1st thing::::: Right it is our choice if we respect our parents. My bad a typo.

2nd thing:::: I don't get why the schools have to give out deoderent(by the time we see the movie shouldn't we already use it?), Pads(what if you want to use tampons why do they have to give them out. you will get them when you are ready)

Was anyone thinking the same thing,

TT101

I remember when we got the 'Goodie bag' I don't think we got deoderant in ours though. Just a booklet about periods & some period stuff like pads & tampons.

When we watched the 'video' all I remember was we saw a woman who was pregnant, and we saw her give birth. It looked really painful so I asked my mum and she said 'It's worth it at the end'.

I have a question- it's sort of a side step but I'm sure someone here knows.

>What are some signs of anorexia in guys?

>What causes anorexia?

>What are the effects off overdosing household drugs [Tylonal, Advil, that stuff]?

>Could those to be related and should I be worried and step in if a friend has the warning signs and overdoses the drugs?

Your First Two Questions:::::Boys and anarexia(SP?)

Second two Questions:::::House Hold Drug Overdoses

Aww that's really mean and nasty. I'm sure they wouldn't like someone to say 'Ewww' at them when they were in swimwear. Why do they say it?

intercourse? no I'm still young. So it's probably my body is adjusting. though this does get confusing.
Yeah everyone changes at different speeds and so do hormones. It was weird for me too first while. It'll get better though, no worries

My friends and i have told each other that we will let each other know when we get our periods... Anyone here have anyway to tell them without the embarrasment?

oh yeah, and i was in Wal-Mart, and i had a quarter. i innocently walked into the restroom, and i saw the quarter vending machines for sanitary napkins. Despite my better judgment....... I BOUGHT ONE! I don't know why. I guess i just had an impulse. Any similair experiances? (by the way, i had to hide it in a BUNCH of toilet paper, not knowing if my grandma would approve...)

If it's too embarrasing, you don't have to tell them right away, you can wait. But if you want to tell them, just say it, it's not too embarrassing if you know that they will soon get theirs, and who knows maybe they already did, and they're just not telling you.

And that Wal-Mart thing made me laugh a little, of all the things you could have bought for a quarter (CANDY!) you bought a sanitary napkin, that's interesting.

Don't be embarrassed, i'm sure other people have done the same thing.

I was thinking of all the reasons i could have bought one... and i have 2 answeres.

1. I might have wanted to be ready for "the day"

2. I might have subconsiosly known that i might get it soon.

what do ya say? (ANY SIMILIAR EXPERIANCES???)

For your number 2 reason, that's what happens with most girls, they kind of have a feeling they are going to get it, and that happened to me too.

I was going somewhere in the summer, and had a feeling I was going to get it, so I brought a pad and I did. A similar thing happened with my friend as well.
