Get rid of pet on ID L

Hi I just recently got a tamagotchi id L and im on my second generation. My tama is an adult now and I want to get a pet, but I got the same one as I got on my last generation. I went to the donut park and another pet showed up 4 or 5 times but it didnt give me an option to get rid of my current pet. Is there a way to get rid of my current pet to get a new one, or do I have to wait until my next generation is an adult to get a different one? Please help, I want to get a new pet before my tama gets married. Thanks

Unfortunately, you have to wait until a new generation to get rid of the pet you currently have. Note that you can say no to whatever pet is offered to you for adoption until you get the one you want.

If you go to the park during different times of the day, different pets show up.
