Gen 2 help please!

So my kids just got their very first Gen 2 Tamagotchis but we are so unsure of the weight. Now if it says 4 9 is it 49 lbs or 4 lbs 9oz? My daughter is on her way to the surprise Tamagotchi but I'm so nervous it'll die before then. Any help would be great!!! Thanks in advance!!!

It's 49 pounds...!
The original Japanese programming has the weight in grams, which was localized as pounds for the rest of the world. Heavy little dudes!!
