Why wouldn't they? I never say 'God Bless You' I just say 'Bless You', it's more of a polite thing than something about God. But this could offend people.

What's insulting? We're not being racist or anything.

I think they do. Saying, "God bless you" started because when people sneezed long ago, it was taken as a sign from the devil. So people started saying, "God bless you" to counter act the devil.

I say God bless you, only I say it really fast, so it comes out like, "G-blesh-oo." =]

Yes, it is a little racist, but people didn't beleive it a sign from the devil, they thought their soul was coming out and they said"bless you"so that no evil spirits could contaminate your soul.Quite simple.

Jewish people believe in and worship God (but not Jesus Christ), so I don't see why they wouldn't say God Bless You if you sneezed (although I usually hear them say "Gazuntheit" (sp?) )

To be honest, it's a simple question, politely posted and I can't see what is offensive or insulting about it

Yeah, it's not against the religion if you do. I say "Bless you" and "God bless you". It's not really a big deal.

It's not a bad thing to say, Jew's belive in god, not jesus. So saying god bless you is ok.

And no - it isn't insulting, she is merely asking a question, you can't help being curious.

When you sneeze, they used to think it was the devil, so the said god bles you to cleanse your soul.

It got abreviated to Bless you, after a while though.

I'm Jewish too, and I say it. They never said at my Sunday school that it was against God, so I don't think it would be.
