I've got 3 Tamas - 4.5, 4 and 3 and I have never once been able to connect any of them to each other. Every time I'm inside in a fairly lit room - not too bright, not too dark - and I've tried putting them in direct contact with each other all the way to about a foot apart and nothing works. I searched this website for info on this and couldn't really find anything helpful.

My 4.5 is 6 days old - Mature and with a job (Old enough for a matchmaker visit if that means anything)

My 4 is 0 days old (Dad just left this morning)

My 3 is 5 days old - Mature for at least 48 hours

HELP! Do they have to be fully mature to connect? Because I've tried waiting and it still doesn't work!

Am I selecting the wrong connection option to start with? Because I figured "Visit" was what I needed to select with the v4 and 4.5, but I've tried other options several times.

Seriously, I've tried everything I can think of. What am I doing wrong?

Well you should always select "others" at the connecting screen if you're connection screen. :)

Yeah, tried that. I tried every option available as far as I can tell...

I find that when connecting two Nintendo DS, they connect better if you put them a little distance apart, rather than having them right in front of each other. Perhaps if you put both Tamagotchi a little distance apart it'll work better. The distance doesn't have to be massive, maybe only about 5cm (2 inches) to 10cm (4 inches) apart.

Don't connect in sunlight or anywhere with really bright lighting. Oh yes and make sure to choose the right option too. When connecting your v4 and v4.5, try choosing "Ver. 4" on your v4 and "V4 & 4.5" on your v4.5.

Only 2 tamas can connect at once or your book may be too full. Try deleting some other friends from the book or some items.

Yeah, no. Like I said in my first post - I have NEVER been able to connect, as in, I have no friends let alone an abundance of them that would require me to delete some of them. I also don't see how having several items would inhibit them from connecting as I would assume it's a separate section of the programming. Even still, I have less than 15 items on each unit so I'm not at or near the max if it were the problem.

And, as I also stated in the first post, I am not attempting to connect in direct sunlight. I am, in fact, in a room that is not too bright, not too dark and I have tried holding them directly next to each other to about a foot apart. That includes everything in between.

Did you ever take your tama apart?

if so then you probly messed about with the infra connection! :D

I had the same problem; I thought something was wrong with my tama. THEN I relived that I had to push the button again.

Select visit or whatever "b" Then it gives some message like connecting and you have to push "b" a second time.

I hope this helps! ;)

When "STAND BY" appears on screen, you need to press the B button to initiate connection ("PROCEED" or "CONNECT" will appear).

Only to replace the battery, but connecting didn't work before that and I bought it new in the store.
