I bought some really cheap Tamas from eBay, and one of them is really gross looking, with yellow dirt stuff all around the shell near the screen. I can barely even stand to look at it!

So, I was wondering, what's the best way to clean these things? Using water doesn't sound good because it's near the screen, and I don't want water in the electronic bits... I'm not sure what to do! I almost want to throw it away because it looks so icky, but I was wondering if there was any good way to clean them.

I recomened you just pull it apart take the Tama under good light on a table then take out all the screws putting them in something so you don't loose anything then just pull it apart carefully not to brak anything and clean it with maybe a cotton bud with water or the edge of a cleaning cloth I clean my colour tama's with a toothpick and scrape the dirt from around the sides on it.

I usually open tamas and scrape off the gross. Then, after I do that... I sorta breath/blow heat onto a qtip. Just enough to make the tip warm and rub it on the dirty. Sometimes, if it needs a bit more, I put a small amount of window cleaner on a paper towel and dab it on a qtip and rub it on the plastic where it is still dirty. I don't like using alcohol types on my tamas because of the smell. Some recommend that...

I already have prepared pictures for making a guide on how to clean the vpet's guts... I am going to finally do this tomorrow.
